Odds are it has a motto on it, an 's' mint would be my guess as the Pacific rim is heavily represented on the boards, pre-1900? Semi-common date 1893-s, have seen a lot of that date.
Good deeds, let me think: Ben Franklin learned a lot from people like Cotton Mather ("Bonifacius"). Some of the best deeds are preventative of harm. One story; a week before 9/11 I was up in Maine hiking Katahdin, probably the first to summit that day, and ran into someone finishing the A/T who needed to get back to New Zealand; I gave him a ride back to CT and then dropped him off at the train station the next day to get to the airport. Virtue is its own reward, in that case someone kept me company in a long drive with which I had stuff in common with. I can't say I have really gotten to know many people in the numismatics field that well, who tend to be on the intellectual side and introverted.
The excitement and anticipation is building. What kind of training regime is Mango doing? Is she carb loading, free weights, jumping rope, yoga, what? Have a good day. Peace Roy
M started to figure it out and he DOES NOT like anything resembles as work ..... was angry when 'told' to pick the paper strip last time.

I can just see Mango now, working out with the music from "Rocky" blasting in the background. My guess is he is also doing some "peck ups" to get ready for "pecking out" the winning paper.
Once while sitting in a Kripsy Kreme downing my apple filled donut I noticed what looked like a homeless woman sitting on a bench at a bus stop outside. I said to my wife "I think I'm supposed to give her some money". I went outside and handed her a $20 bill. She said thank you very much, proceeded to take a pack of cigarettes out of her purse and light up, then pulled out her iPhone and texted her friend to tell her what had just happened. True story.

So many things to reflect back on..... Having worked thirteen years in law enforcement I had seen see so much, some very good and some literally horrible. When you see literally hundreds of murder and suicide victims and hundreds of autopsies you look at life different. Looking back I did many good things for strangers. Probable the most touching was driving my squad down the highway one aftrnoon and a car came alongside me and waved me aside. An older gentleman got out of his car, approached me crying asking if I would take him to the local hospital emergency room, his grandson was dying in the ER. He said he couldn’t drive anymore. Man, that was a tough ride. But of all the stories that one touches me.

A small good deed: I was in the deli the other day, and this scruffy looking man came in and brought a bag of chips and a soda to the register. I was behind him waiting to pay. When the cashier rang him up, the man counted through his change and then announced that he had to put something back. He didn't have enough, so he needed to decide whether he was more hungry or thirsty.
He went over to put back the chips, and I called over to him that I'd pick up his tab. Mind you, I live in NJ, where being 'kind' is a four letter word.
$3.50 made this guy's day, and the cashier was beside herself , too. Guy couldn't thank me enough. For such a small gesture, it brought a lot of smiles.

Good deeds, hmmm. I always try to be nice and I always allow people behind me in line at a store with far fewer items to go ahead of me. I think this is just courtesy though.
