I’d say FR-02. It’s not good enough to be a 3. An AG-3 would have more detail in the center of the coin, and the rims would be worn into the tops of the letters. For this piece the letters are mostly gone.

In recent years I have been working on a set of British coins - at least one coin from each king or queen who issued pieces that are collectible. I am also collecting at least one coin for each Roman emperor from Julius Caesar to ... ?
As there is approximately 35% more silver highrise on this relief design than normal, tough to grade:
Slicketie slick basel state 0.5 obverse with a worn out eagle fairly two reverse.
Carefully use it as a pocket piece with some modern coins, you will probably get down to Poor - 01 and the promised land.

Almost identical in wear to my 1921 Lowball Peace that I grade Fr-02. I researched mine and compared to some other coins and found it to not quite get to P-01.

problem here is that a true lowball basal state or poor-01 1921 peace dollar would be laking the date and thus probably not identifiable. with this much wear on the coin it would probably not be possible to distinguish that it was high as opposed to low relief.

Close to PO01, no better then FR02. I'd be interested in this coin if you decide to part ways with it!

Won't grade with those reverse scratches.

I don't think the scratches on the reverse would prevent it from holder in at 02... roll the dice?

Other coins that I use as pocket pieces usually have a cleaned/polished look to them after a while. I'm fine with this one just how it is.

Good hole filler. It would be a fun undertaking , finding the rest of the series in that grade.

FR02. The nice thing about 21 Peace Dollars is they can grade even without a date visible. Those are usually PO01

1921s are always identifiable due to an extra ray between the eagle's tail and legs that isn't present on low reliefs.
Here's my lowball 1921. Shame about the stab marks!

Yeah probably, but it was thrown in with an economy order so cost wasn't too bad. Even though it didn't make 01, 02s have been selling for almost $100

The market is pretty thin, but I would be surprised if you don't get back at least your costs (assuming the coin was not purchased for a premium)
