I really like the Bicentennial issues, I was a budding numismatic in 75/76. I searched my change, (even to this day) for the quarters, finding a half dollar at that time for me was almost imposible...

It's a sliver of color; the luster is nice too. I like it too!

I think they are using Specialist's definition (basically almost everything non PCGS/CAC).

And a certain well known dealers example was only an au50, his was possibly the finest known....but then you are the experts with these.

That 50 used to be mine too. I owned it when it was raw. Side by side, I judged it to be inferior to mine (luster, wear), so sold it to a fellow collector. Not finest though, since there is a 58 in Tennessee

no sticker. I know CAC evaluators are quite knowledgeable with all types of coins, but would they know that every single 1837 LM-2 and (especially) LM-3 comes struck so poorly that they tend to look like VFs, even when possessing the luster of an AU? I was surprised PCGS graded it 45. They almost got it right

There are good coins and great coins... some coins are damaged, some are pristine. Dreck is a term popularized by elitists, usually spoken in dealer circles. I have many coins that would be labeled as such... and I like them. Cheers, RickO

Things you see over and over and over again that don't belong in a dealers case every week wishing and hoping that they sell. Like a V nickel with a plus + attached to it that doesn't get a "gold bean" or a quarter that got swallowed and five nickels came out or old Ike dollars with no silver content..........
