Counting wheel damage. What a shame. You can barely see it on the obverse field.

Cracked from a slab, genny, altered surfaces.

To add, I bought this as a raw coin from one of the major EAC dealers, and submitted, and came back genny -
    I didn't buy it as a genny.
I do have a few other large cents that were purchased in genny slabs though, just no pics.

You bring up an interesting thought. Are intentional mint errors problem coins?

    A little damage,

    And a bit of cleaning

And glad to have 'em: most collectors on a budget will go without the types rather than compromise on Quality.

Here’s another.....the N2 is much tougher than the N1 overdate, IMO, and neither are all that easy or inexpensive to acquire in pristine condition.

I am thinking it may straight grade if I cracked and resubmitted. What do you all think? The flaw is not distracting, at least to my eye, and it's a pretty common occurrence on early dollars anyways, right?

Not necessarily, but it’s probably the reason this one didn’t straight grade.

Quite possible. I don't remember what I had for dinner last night, so remembering if or when I posted something...well you get the idea. Ha ha.
