ANONYMOUS preference poll. ... Copper, Silver, or Gold? ....ESTHETICS ONLY.... please

topstuftopstuf Posts: 14,803 ✭✭✭✭✭

This poll is to choose which metal you most ENJOY looking at.
No value considerations.
For the duration of the poll, .....ASSUME..... that your pick is either gorgeously toned or brilliant.
In other words ...TRY... not to go off on tangents about toned, vs. shiny.

Assume the metal/s you are picking are for the esthetic enjoyment of the nature of the metal itself.

And yes, I'm aware of platinum and nickel.... oh why not? .... I'll add those just for kicks.
Thassit.

:)

I think silver is most interesting and beautiful, overall.

Gold because it's easy on my eyes and also just because I LIKE it <3

Heh heh heh..... I get pissed at myself for not making the poll anonymous and then everyone goes and tells anyhow.

I like gold as I gravitate right to it when I'm browsing at a coin show. I like the pre-1933 pieces the best, as I'm not as much of a fan of the new gold.

    Copper is growing on me.
It has ...."sumpin"... that the more precious ones make up for in some ways but in other ways the copper does.

How's that for not being wishy-washy?

Gold, but they can all be quite beautiful under the right conditions.

Maybe the nickel lover will comment. I'd like to hear what is more appealing about nickel, than gold or silver.

There are some BIG nickel major errors out there. Thick coin, some have a tremendous amount of metal flow.

    Gold
I have some ancient, world and classic US gold plus some modern proof and they all win out over all my coins except ancient silver which runs neck and neck.

Where is the option for manganese brass? ;)

Sorry. Couldn’t resist. ALL other things being equal, I guess silver wins. In a giveaway, gold is just fine.

    Something special about Gold!

  • I have to pick copper because it's the hardest to find early copper in nice shape, no corrosion or porosity or cleaning or strange coloring. Gold and even silver are hard to ruin unless buried or messed with. When you can find old copper that has no problems it is worth paying up for.
