He works for free and probably spends more hours at work each week than 99% of us. He deserves a round of golf every now and then. The last round was with world leaders so that's probably work, too.

He may work for relatively next to nothing, and good for him to play a round of golf here and there as people need a breather, but I would be fired on the spot if I was tweeting all day instead of working!
As for the 1933's. I remember the first time I saw one. I was excited to see it after all the hoopla, but it was just a ho hum coin. The display had a high relief which makes all other Saints look flat. Coolest coin in the display was the 1849 $20. That was a beautiful coin. Wonder where the other one ended up.

So they are going to display the coins that they stole from a private citizen at a coin show? That’s like the King raiding a castle in medieval times and displaying the severedheads of the former occupants as trophy's on pikes for all the villagers to see. Makes me sad. If I was going I wouldn’t view them. I actually sort of hope someone steals them back Danny Ocean style

This is not where I thought this post would go. If I intended it to be best trolling post I would have mentioned mamas, getting drunk, CAC, hundreds of DD pics, or Enhanced Uncirculated Sets.
I just want someone to post pictures of the 1933 gold piece. Can we leave the politics to some other thread?

I agree with Mark about such a display being in poor taste. I will be happy with viewing pictures... having gone through the eleven years of litigation (here on the forum), I still think the government should not have confiscated those coins. They were presented in good faith and should have been subjected to a negotiated settlement. Cheers, RickO
I disagree that the display is in poor taste. I also was disappointed with the outcome of the case, but that’s water under the bridge. The coins are now the property of the American people. They should be allowed to be seen, and not melted or hidden in a vault somewhere.
I like your view, Nap. However , two wrongs won't make it right. They were illegally confiscated, (IMO); with zero proof they were unlawfully exchanged/ or distributed, at time of manufacture.
And for the record I'm happy to see we can view the whole picture from our lowly perches, as much as we like to put blame on leaders.
I tend to get defensive (of our presidents)....with the exception of them on our coins. Or what happens during their term.
But what belongs to an American , doesn't mean it belongs to its people.
The system is rigged AND on display.

Very poor taste since they started showing the coins a couple of years ago. It's bad when your government puts its arrogance on display like this.

That is a terrible display of arrogance and dominance to parade those coins in an exhibit for all to see.
Give them back or melt them.
But to tour them around is just low down & dirty...
If I wanted to hear idiots talk about politics I could read about it on the Huffpost. So if you liberal idiots that don’t know shit about politics would like to keep it to coins I’ll listen.

I should have thought better than this. We don't wish to get into family trips, social secretary expenses, multiple vacations, and foreign travel using two planes, etc. Wasting taxpayers money is one of the "perks" of power. It is a rare President who we cannot find fault with something.
