    Maybe -- 5,000,000 Venezuelan Bolivars.

Is it supposed to be made of copper-zinc alloy rather than copper coated zinc?

Maybe it is part of an 1982 set of experiments similar to these 1964-65 ones:

    =

    29.0077 USD

    that's $28 more than I'd pay :o

But --- that exchange rate was at 5:pm pm EDT. By now, 5:11 pm, it's probably $21.

Exactly. I will make sure to do both at the same time. Actually, I'm Canadian, so such campaign contributions are illegal. That leaves with an extra $5,000 to spend on this 1982 cent!

I would be very hesitant paying anything over face value for what to me at least looks like pocket change. I am guessing that the 1982 is struck on a different planchet. If so, I probably should learn how to distinguish the difference between a common one and the rare one so that I can cash one in.

I still have my best 1982 bronze sd. I got my duplicate designated and sold it for $5K as a pop 1 ms67rd. Later it got upgraded to 67+rd and sold for $10K. Now I think the pop report even shows some ms68rds, but don't let that fool you, this is not an easy date. It took me 7 or 8 years of lots of searching to get the first few ever graded 67rd.

    Sold for $3.5K, 8/2016, pop: 2

Need the following OBW rolls to complete my 46-64 Roosevelt roll set:
    1947-P & D; 1948-D; 1949-P & S; 1950-D & S; and 1952-S.
Any help locating any of these OBW rolls would be gratefully appreciated!

    Me personally? Nope.

But, 1982 is such an important year for us copper guys in a whole. It's the year the U.S. Mint changed its alloy from copper, to zinc.

No. But then again, I wouldn't pay whatever a top pop Morgan, Seated Dime, or Large Cent are going for....Not my thing.

Which I think is what most of you are saying, whether you thought so or not. :)

Takes a specialist to see the value. But I'm sure the owners of the 65 and 66's are happy the market is being boosted!

I can see the cool factor for some, yet I know it wouldn't last for me. As the next time I brought it home from my SDB I'd feel like I should have had my head examined for purchasing it.

I don't get it. Is its value strictly based on it on being a top pop coin? Not for me and I can see the population in high graded increasing in the future.

I would love to find one.... so that I could sell it. Now, I am not a seller of coins... however, for that one, I could make an exception. A unique coin that some people really want... and that has no attraction whatsoever for me.... Yep, I could sell that one... find it in the 'take a cent, leave a cent' tray.. and voila'.... megabucks... :D Cheers, RickO

I bought that coin. It was a pop 1/0 at the time, price guide was $12.5k. I bought a bunch of moderns in that auction for way too cheap.

I've been looking for any kind of really nice 1982 cent since 1982 and I've never found a single one.

No....I would probably settle for a 65 or 66 if I was a Lincoln Cent Variety collector. It is pretty though.
