For sure I would. That's an absolute steal. Who do I give my money to?
How bout the Donald for his 2020....
Exactly. I will make sure to do both at the same time. Actually, I'm Canadian, so such campaign contributions are illegal. That leaves with an extra $5,000 to spend on this 1982 cent!
I would be very hesitant paying anything over face value for what to me at least looks like pocket change. I am guessing that the 1982 is struck on a different planchet. If so, I probably should learn how to distinguish the difference between a common one and the rare one so that I can cash one in.

I still have my best 1982 bronze sd. I got my duplicate designated and sold it for $5K as a pop 1 ms67rd. Later it got upgraded to 67+rd and sold for $10K. Now I think the pop report even shows some ms68rds, but don't let that fool you, this is not an easy date. It took me 7 or 8 years of lots of searching to get the first few ever graded 67rd.
Not for me. Always the chance someone finds a roll or more. I like collecting what I know the mintage of. But to each his own. Good luck with the hunt!!!

Bet the person that paid 10K for the 67+ was prolly pissed . . .
Need the following OBW rolls to complete my 46-64 Roosevelt roll set: 1947-P & D; 1948-D; 1949-P & S; 1950-D & S; and 1952-S. Any help locating any of these OBW rolls would be gratefully appreciated!
I can see the cool factor for some, yet I know it wouldn't last for me. As the next time I brought it home from my SDB I'd feel like I should have had my head examined for purchasing it.
To Err Is Human.... To Collect Err's Is Just Too Much Darn Tootin Fun!
I don't get it. Is its value strictly based on it on being a top pop coin? Not for me and I can see the population in high graded increasing in the future.

I would love to find one.... so that I could sell it. Now, I am not a seller of coins... however, for that one, I could make an exception. A unique coin that some people really want... and that has no attraction whatsoever for me.... Yep, I could sell that one... find it in the 'take a cent, leave a cent' tray.. and voila'.... megabucks... Cheers, RickO

Sold for $3.5K, 8/2016, pop: 2
I bought that coin. It was a pop 1/0 at the time, price guide was $12.5k. I bought a bunch of moderns in that auction for way too cheap.

No.
As we say in NZ, yeah... nah.
Smitten with DBLCs.
It's graded PCGS MS67+ if that matters
Maybe -- 5,000,000 Venezuelan Bolivars.
Is it supposed to be made of copper-zinc alloy rather than copper coated zinc?
Maybe it is part of an 1982 set of experiments similar to these 1964-65 ones:
5000000 VEF
=
29.0077 USD
that's $28 more than I'd pay
Well the reverse sure ain't 67+.
But --- that exchange rate was at 5:pm pm EDT. By now, 5:11 pm, it's probably $21.
not even with Jeff Bezos money
NO!
Edited: I meant to say "HELL NO!"

ABSOLUTELY !!!
The classic design and thrilling history embodied in that coin would make it a CENTERPIECE in my collection!!
Once the floor orderly dozes off, I am going to try to get it.
Just say NO!
My US Mint Commemorative Medal Set
Hold on a sec; checking to see if I have that much in my petty cash drawer. If I do, I'm in!

I’d rather have the best Chain Cent I could find for the same money.

Absolutely, positively not.

).
Nope !!!
LOL
Seen one Lincoln cent you'd seen them all.

Me personally? Nope.
But, 1982 is such an important year for us copper guys in a whole. It's the year the U.S. Mint changed its alloy from copper, to zinc.
I still have a roll of each of the seven types that I bought from Virg Marshall III back in '82.

Which I think is what most of you are saying, whether you thought so or not.
Takes a specialist to see the value. But I'm sure the owners of the 65 and 66's are happy the market is being boosted!
I can see the cool factor for some, yet I know it wouldn't last for me. As the next time I brought it home from my SDB I'd feel like I should have had my head examined for purchasing it.
nope! 5K could buy lots of other cool coins

Wanna bet?
I've been looking for any kind of really nice 1982 cent since 1982 and I've never found a single one.
Where are they going to come from?
Let me think... That cent or two MS66 Saints? Hmmmm.....
How about, NO!

Depends, What's my "liquid" net worth? Do I have a Registry Set?
No....I would probably settle for a 65 or 66 if I was a Lincoln Cent Variety collector. It is pretty though.
