YQQYQQ Posts: 3,341 ✭✭✭✭✭

Yesterday I received a Jar full of international coins. Included was this US 2 cent dated 1868.
It is in great shape.
How would you guys grade this coin?
Is it worth to have it graded?

and what would or could its value be?
thank you all for your help

The patch scratches at the end of the date along with the nasty groove at 12 o'clock suggest a details grade. As for what letter designation it would receive, I am not sure I do not really know the key points to look at on these!

A government accident left me a former man, a potato. That photo on my profile is a low resolution selfie. I like coins.

I would grade it EF-40 sharpness, scratched. The deep marks above the motto are a big problem, unfortunately.

    thank you all.
Your input tells me not to wast $$ by having it graded.

Lot of raw type collectors on the eBay.
Sounds like loss leader auction is the route.
