Tough call! But I’m going #1.

The second one. The first one looks slightly over-cooked to me.

If I had to pick from the two, I like number one with the red in the target toning the most. The color contrast is just a little more interesting to me.

  • DMWJRDMWJR Posts: 6,022 ✭✭✭✭✭

The second one looks more like most Lincolns that have toned in the packaging to me.

    I'll say number 2

I suspect that the toning on #1 is darker in hand than it appears in the photo, so if it is only between these two coins, I'll vote #2.

Obverse of 1, reverse of 2?

(Yeah....I'm going to be of no help at all). ;)

To be honest, I dont like either, but if I have to, I would go with #2, I like the subtle blues on that one

  • Bob13Bob13 Posts: 1,538 ✭✭✭✭✭

I'd vote for #2. I bet #1 is not going to look that nice in hand - will be very dark toning based on the TV.

Number 2. Some of the toning on number 1 is getting a bit too dark.

Close call, but the deuce for me. I like what I would label the balanced, equal toning for the Obv./Rev.

'#2 has the most complete, even golden toning that I have seen on a Lincoln. #1 on the other hand, shows a red and green not usually seen on a Lincoln. Neither have been to CAC by the way.

I vote for 2. Number 1 has too much red tone for my taste.

I have followed some really nice ones at Heritage over the years. I think you can do better than either with patience.

2, first one is too dark in pic, darker inhand.

2 is overall more pleasing and that dark purple toning on #1 isn't very appealing

I think I'm going with '#2 as well. One thing that doesn't show in the picture on '#1 is the contrast between the middle and the edges. The center is brighter and has a lot of pop which you can't see in the picture. 2 is a luster bomb, but just not quite as much pop as the first one. Thank you guys for the input. I think all the comments were great!!!

Number 2, although I would love to own either of these, on my bucket list for a nicely toned one. These are well out of my price range, 67's or better I assume?
