The pictures are inconclusive to my eye, but the mintmark looks a bit fishy. I'd have it inspected in-hand by someone knowledgeable, or if that's not easily attainable, consider sending it in.
Collector of Large Cents, US Type, and modern pocket change.
It looks raw and cleaned. Why take a chance on it. "Sending it in" costs money and the results may disappoint you. Just buy one that is already slabbed.
I don't think that it is genuine. It has some raised areas on the obverse under the date, by the "N" in "UNITED" and on the "A" in "AMERICA" that don't look good to me. We have also learned that cleaning is one of the ways to hide counterfeit imperfections.
Even if it is real, the surfaces are rough. It's not just cleaned; it's also looks corroded.
There is a high grade, genuine example.
And here is another.
Retired dealer and avid collector of U.S. type coins, 19th century presidential campaign medalets and selected medals. In recent years I have been working on a set of British coins - at least one coin from each king or queen who issued pieces that are collectible. I am also collecting at least one coin for each Roman emperor from Julius Caesar to ... ?
It does not look sharp enough. I dig IHPs all the time and even with the various states of exposure to soil conditions, some details are still crisp. IMHO. Peace Roy
The cheekbone and eye, or tips of feathers, would've worn before "LIB" too, right? It seems they're in too good condition to have that other amount of wear.

Maybe I should send it in?

Here is a comparison
Looks OK but the image is granular. I'd save my money and buy more coins.

You won't know for sure unless you "send it in" and "sending it in" costs money and takes time. I don't know if it is authentic.

I think it's genuine and will "genuine" at PCGS.
Lance.
It looks like a cast counterfeit to me.
What does it weigh?

The mint mark isn't right.
I would pass on that one.....Looks like it has been cast....just too many strange marks that appear raised... Cheers, RickO

Well thanks for everyone's help! I think I have made up my mind to pass on this coin
