Scratch on the neck or holder?

  • sellitstoresellitstore Posts: 3,034 ✭✭✭✭✭

Looks by the photo that it's 61-62 if the scratch is on the coin, 64-65 if on the holder, but it's really impossible to accurately grade uncirculated coins by a photo.

Yup the classic 58-62 depending on the day......... Although that scratch may have changed the equation, looking forward to the posted grade.

58, but I must add your photos don't make it easy to be confident. They way they are lit make it difficult to judge luster and wear -- the single most important feature in grading AU/MS coins, IMO.

Very little wear, dark toning and the one distracting scratch brings it down to a 62-63 imo .

Doesn't "very little wear" knock it out of any UNC grade?

I know i might be in the minority here but something tells me it's in a 64 holder.

I was going to say 63 details scratched. I assume the mark in the earlier pic wasn't on the coin. If so that piece might get into a 3 holder with our host. Opinions?

Wow I think it a nice coin. May need a little help on the dark side looking at that last pic.

So......what year is the holder? 04 to 07? Were they conservative or loose back then?
