CEOs screw everything up, and they are the last to pay for it.
Retired dealer and avid collector of U.S. type coins, 19th century presidential campaign medalets and selected medals. In recent years I have been working on a set of British coins - at least one coin from each king or queen who issued pieces that are collectible. I am also collecting at least one coin for each Roman emperor from Julius Caesar to ... ?
We sure lost a lot of photographs when Photobucket changed their pricing/terms. It would be really nice if they could be restored... not likely to get them all, that would be a lot of research, and many members no longer post. Cheers, RickO

Theoretically (I have not checked) all the ones that HAD been posted have been restored, and the third party hosting add-on fees/plan fees are now for only those going forward. But, a lot of people deleted accounts and deleted links so those won't get fixed. Those that were left alone SHOULD be restored.
I had left my account intact in the hope this would happen (ie restoring the pre-pricing-event-PB-killing-disaster). It has, but I sincerely doubt I will go back. No reason to, and the free accounts are still buggy, so wouldn't dream of trying a paid plan.
Thats good.
Pretty much all of us have...but im still curious how all of the archived images on countless forums will deal with the fact that everyone used pb for years?
Not so much an issue for me here...seen a bunch of old coins once, no need to see them again...but other forums have lost truly interesting imformative info thats basically wiped them out..

Yes they did and it sucked. At least (it appears) those old/pre PB apocalypse links have been revived. Hopefully it will stay that way and the fee structure is only for those going forward. Even so. The loss and disruption of content was ridiculous and they've waited so long most of us have figured out how to live without them.
What would be really cool is if CU converted PB images in old threads so that they could be managed and stored on PCGS servers the way current pictures are. Same for those from other photo storage sites, not just PB.
A good engineer could build a script to do it in one fell swoop. But PCGS's IT guys may not have the know-how and might have to contract-out the work. Of course there's the matter of storage space for all those images. But that's pretty cheap these days.
Then, when PB eventually crumbles, we won't lose them again (and forever).
Lance.
I liked them while it lasted, before the "fee-gate" scandal, but there appears to be an abundance of space available on their storage drives due to the mass-exodus of images being deleted.

It’s funny how this one thread can bring us all back in a big loving embrace... of intense dislike for PB.
How does one get a hater to stop hating?

One good thing:
My pictures are back!
BHNC #203
Saved one I wanted!
My 1866 Philly Mint Set
When the last one leaves I'm sure he will turn off the lights/ delete all the pictures/ kick the bucket.
The old adage in business is that it's a lot easier to get customers, than to get them back.
Photobucket is finding this out the hard way.
