Nice error and first year of the State Quarters too. Lots of collector interest for several reasons.

Cool error and I agree it does have a spooky look with the inverted Connecticut and 1788.

Thanks for sharing a cool error.

My art background also helps as I view these as pieces of art.

Is the reverse/brockage design incuse or raised?

  • ctf_error_coinsctf_error_coins Posts: 15,433 ✭✭✭✭✭

Incused as in pressed in is the definition of a brockage error.

I don't have one, but I've always thought that the Connecticut quarter brockages well.

Here is another that is not as strong but you can certainly tell which state it is. Plus it is a mushroom, my favorite error type.

Both of your coins are outstanding error coins and I gave them both a "Like". I would guess you get a few PM's from people asking if you want to sell them.

You have run a few of these threads showing new purchases of some outstanding error coins.

But this is your business, is it not? Don't these coins end up selling in your on-line stores that are linked in your signature line?

Seems like these threads are kind of Spamy. Maybe they should be on the Buy/Sell/Trade forum. I've been surprised that someone hasn't to jumped on these threads, as quick as they are to go after others. Like the new member who mentioned he liked modern bullion and where he liked to purchase it.

Any way, you do have some great error coins. I would love to have that triple-struck Jefferson Nickel you have listed on eBay. <3

That is a great question and I have almost asked it as a topic. Yes, I am a major error coin dealer and I do like to promote my business.

The first coin that I posted cannot be found for sale as of now altho it will be at some point in the future, probably this week.

So I ask you guys, do you want to see awesome photos of major error coins even if I am a dealer? You can learn a lot from these threads.

I spend quite a bit of time photographing these coins and some of the photos come out fantastic. That is why I post them. I believe the photos are enjoyed here. I by no means post all my coins.

    Peace out.

It is a very compelling point that @coinhack made, but I also like to see the errors. Where to draw the line.... :/

If the coin is not currently for sale, I suppose that makes it easier to not be upset by it.

Also, lots of new posters some on to show an inherited collection and to find out how much it is worth with the obvious intention to sell in one venue or another.

If the marketing angle is too obvious then that is one thing, But otherwise, a little plausible deniability can be a good thing,

Many times something comes up and I go to my "stock" photos of coins in my inventory to show the forum what a good or real example of some error looks like. Information is good.

  • davewesendavewesen Posts: 6,697 ✭✭✭✭✭

that first one is just insane :)

  • coinhackcoinhack Posts: 1,186 ✭✭✭✭

@ErrorsOnCoins, I for one have no problem with your posts. I am not a moderator or a member of the spam police. I have just been surprised that one of them (the self-appointed spam police) hasn't jumped on these posts already.

As far as giving your inventory a little publicity, you are not the only one. Among others, the Penny Lady show reports come immediately to mind. Her show reports always show a good number of her new purchases. Which are all for sale. But I love the Penny Lady show reports and look forward to them and seeing her purchases gives a little insight into her activity with the other dealers. Makes for a more complete view of the show.
