Looks like a high end VF, maybe VF35 in terms of wear. Minor rim problem on reverse might bring grade down 5 pts but not bad enough to really be considered damage (details grade).

I'll let the die variety specialists answer the attribution question.

Well, it's not a curl base 2, so it's not THE major variety, but still neat. And I like the look of the coin overall - agree with high VF.

    No one in denticles.
    Heritage Auctions stated:

Variety: JR-2, R.2. The Large 10C reverse die. ED touch at their bottoms, and a denticle between the lower two arrows shows a curious tine of metal projecting upward into the field. Die State: Several die cracks show on the obverse. Most notably, star 1 shows three separate cracks running in different directions: one to the rim; one into the field; one to the bustline and top of 1. Another crack runs through the bottom of 9 to the rim. The reverse offers one crack, heavy, from the top of T2 to the rim.
    It's an interesting variety.

VF-30 minus 5 points for some minor edge issues on the reverse. Net VF-25.

A middle of the grade VF. A good album coin.

That's the way I saw it exactly!

I see it as a mid VF... and to me, those 'anomalies' look more like die chips than anything else. Cheers, RickO

VF-35 details. Whether it gets bumped down for the minor rim issues is beyond the scope of your question.

Regarding repunching, the top red arrow merely shows damage from a hit and metal movement. The bottom red arrows shows die fatigue causing raised areas of metal.

    Overall, great looking bust dime!
