How much time a week do you spend searching for coins?

BoosibriBoosibri Posts: 12,678 ✭✭✭✭✭

I must admit, I probably spend at least 1 hour a day searching for coins in various locations. Dealers I am familiar with, searching for new small dealers with diamonds in the rough, eBay, Heritage, Stacks, Goldberg's, European Auctions, GC, B&M's if the opportunity affords... What about you?

Probably about 30 seconds, the time it takes to check the reject slots on local Coinstar machines. :)

I spend 4 to 5 hours a day looking at, researching online and just any free time is spent on the computer. So much my dog is pissed at me!

Every time I sit a the computer I look at my saved eBay searches. Then about once a week I visit dealer's websites and hit the "shop" button on the registry sets.

All added up..... maybe 2 or 2.5 hours a week of actively looking.

    ok, I did the math.

500 times a day refresh at 2 seconds each equals 16.67 minutes times 7 equals about 2 hours per week.

Probably not enough. I always seem a day late. In reality maybe 30 minutes on the low end, 90 minutes on the high end. Having a full-time job is necessary but cuts into the searching time, then there are the activities...darts, ball, etc.

I have to admit I search ebay probable 15-20 minutes every night sometimes more. I also go to coins shows and have a lot of coin friends. I will call it 8-10 hours a week.

I spend at least an hour a day on coins, though not all in searching.

I checked and his(?) posts are not exactly the same.
They are mostly short and things like Nice!!! or Cool!!! .
Seems legit and friendly to me. Similar to clicking on the "Like" button.

    Back on topic:
I check my Saved Searches on ebay about 2x a week for about an hour each time.

In bed at night with my iPad for final wind down of day. Usually only last a few min though and I’m out cold.

Might take me all week to get through one dealer that way. Atlas, a month! Then it’s fresh again from the start.....

I use about an hour browsing for coins. I'm not really looking to buy a coin but if I see one that jumps out at me while browsing I will buy it.

Maybe 1 to 2 hours a month... I like to look at coins, but have a lot of other things to do. Usually see more coins here in a day than I do searching in any given week....Once in a while, when I have some time, I will look for a particular coin.... I do not do random browsing though. Cheers, RickO

..too much time. I have nothing better to do until I return to work so that helps. Now that business is bonkers, I don't think I'll be doing much coin buying/selling. I'll certainly be searching for my own collection, though.

Various visits to banks to find halves and dollar coins - yup

    AzurescensAzurescens Posts: 2,903 ✭✭✭✭✭

How's that been going @SaorAlba ? My credit union didn't have enough halves on hand for a box and there's a metals place half a block over. They never see anything.
