I really like the obverse on this double eagle. The photo of the reverse... I can't really make out that well.

Very nice coin without any spotting or toning spots. If you do want to include the slab, take one photo of the obverse showing the whole thing, then a shot each of the obverse and reverse as mentioned by BillJones.

You can count me in with the like crown.
Yep! I like it a lot B) Just a pretty piece all the way around.

probably worth 1,700, but they probably want more then that since it's on the high side

Why it is what it is. Nice coin but if I'm paying for a MS64 it better be a 64 if not then it's a strong MS63 but not a 4 so why pay for a 64 if it in a MS63 holder, That is just me dumb Type2 thinking.

From the pictures it looks nice but the coin is slightly tilted and the images are not sharp. At $2100 the coin is aggressively priced with suboptimal pictures.

  • rickoricko Posts: 98,724 ✭✭✭✭✭

That is a nice gold coin... I think the price is representative of the owner's opinion of the coin...and, for lack of better pictures, it could well be justified. Cheers, RickO

Poor quality photos. Probably correctly graded as is. Pass.

The coin looks to be super smooth with a great cheek and fields, but I think that the photo presents the piece to its best advantage. If you look in front of Ms. Liberty's chin, you will see a dull spot. That might be why NGC only gave it an MS-63. The reverse photo of the coin is so smal that it is almost at the point of useless.

lEye appeal might give this coin a premum price for the assigned grade, but one would need to see this piece in person before you can say that it is a slam dunk up grade or crack-out candidate.

In recent years I have been working on a set of British coins - at least one coin from each king or queen who issued pieces that are collectible. I am also collecting at least one coin for each Roman emperor from Julius Caesar to ... ?

Nice coin, but seems a bit overpriced. :(

I can't grade very well from images but to my eye I see wispy lines running from 7 o'clock to 2 o'clock. If so that would explain why a MS 64 is sitting in a 63 holder.

Coin does have that nice peach color.
