I know its over his career. Again, I have bought and sold more million dollar plus coins then anyone. I have never heard of him doing multi million dollar bullion or antique deals not buying and selling the really big girl coins. I do know he does sell a lot of six figure coins (he did sell the 1794 $1 in MS63+ this year for close to $2 million). .
I know what it takes to do big numbers. My list would shame any one (but RCW). Its not my ego-its just when I see someone really stretching, I don't like it. Heck the 2008 pattern deal i did ($40 million) still adds up to more then what he listed. oh yeah, that little $11 million Seated Dollar deal....Heck, last week I spent a million dollars plus on better gold....You have to do a huge amount to make that claim.
I would bet only RCW (they have handled all the big girl coins) and or US coins (he does huge generic deals) could probably truthfully say closer to $2 billion over their carriers.

Founded by one of the most distinguished numismatists and all-around experts in the US rare coin market, Tangible Investments has been involved in over $2 Billion worth of transactions, many for historically important rarities.
Tangible Investments opened in 1984 when Silvano DiGenova, a rare coin prodigy who single-handedly created the coin grading set used by the Professional Coin Grading Service (PCGS), decided to start his own business. Led by Mr. DiGenova, whose distinguished career has cemented his identity as a rare coin market maker, the buying power of Tangible Investments has resulted in the following landmark purchases.
Co-purchaser, consultant and minority partner of the Trompetor Proof Gold Collection for $15.2 million. This represents the largest RARE COIN private treaty sale in history at the time.
Purchaser of the 1907 Ultra High Relief $20 Gold PR-67 for $1.2 million the highest priced ever realized at public auction for a U.S. gold coin at the time.
Buyer of the Jasper Roberson Collection ... over $1 Million!
Buyer of the Clifford-Kagin San Francisco Mint Collection ... over $2 Million -- and then later resold for $3.1 Million!
Buyer of the Connoisseur Collection ... over $2.5 Million!
Buyer of the 1879 $4 Coiled Hair Stella PR65 & PR66 ... over $1.3 Million!
Buyer of the 1851 Augustus Humbert $50 Choice Proof ... over $600,000!
Buyer of the 1855 Kellogg $50 Choice Proof ... over $400,000!”
They’ve run commercials over several major radio stations in SO. CA.
This list of "highlights" tapers off very quickly. Even if Tangible Investment was on both ends of these transactions, this list would have to be about 40 times longer to get to $2B.
I seriously doubt it was just numismatic items that adds up to 2 BILLION dollars in that short of a period of time. Of course this is just my opinion. That’s a hell of a lot of sales!
The bitterness of "Poor Quality" is remembered long after the sweetness of low price is forgotten.
I've heard the commercial....but my failing memory says they were talking "Collectibles". Which would include coins, and a whole lot of other things. That's why the $600 vs. $6000 ring testimonial was included(?)
(Again, going from memory, so I'm prepared to be wrong).
Well... an interesting thread. I certainly appreciate the knowledgeable inputs from @specialist ... I trust her inputs based on her knowledge and long involvement in the business. Cheers, RickO
For a succesful crackout dealer that also plays in big coins as well as handles millions in bullion each year, the number $2 billion does not seem crazy for me.
While Laura definitely has her experience, I have heard multiple times from multiple dealers that during the wild west days and the great coin market surges, some dealers were doing 1-10 million PER SHOW.
Throw in a couple of million in bullion per year and it would not surprise me.

maybe Im wrong, but it does not seem crazy to me over a 20-30+ year career.
Heck I wonder if Paul Nugget did it over his years at MTB etc...???
And who can forget bobby hughes? Hes got to be at close to 100 Billion by now!
Artful linguistic puffery. "involved in" could simply mean = was consulted or served in some other capacity... add all those "involvements" cumulatively, with all other deals over a lifetime, and its quite possible.

He probably has great memory unlike yours truly.
Yep, but no harm no foul
Come on, you all know it's Legend Coins!
I’d believe it IF they included the following items:
Consigned items,
Items they bid on,on behalf of their clients, dealers etc.

Yes, Heritage has decent numbers...like this:
Heritage Auctions' Comics Category Breaks Single-Year Record With Sales Of Nearly $43 Million--January 19, 2017
FOR COMICS!!!

The U.S. Mint? Yes.
All others: No.
$2 billion over a 34 year period, is small potatoes. ( approx 58 million per year)
Yup that's the guy I bet looks like a 2 billion dollar enterprise there haha
HAPPY COLLECTING
Nope. I cut and paste the quote into a website called Google, which finds things on the internet.
Keeper of the VAM Catalog • Professional Coin Imaging • Prime Number Set • World Coins in Early America • British Trade Dollars • Variety Attribution
I had used google too, and ended up with Tangible but because they seem to deal with lots of different items, I didn’t figure it to be them
Here's another billion dollar coin seller who you can also see on TV

"bought and sold" could mean buying $1 billion and selling $1 billion

A billion here, a billion there... Pretty soon you're talking real money.

Oh well I never sold to him or her or bought from him or her if I don't know him or her. So did that make sense?
Hoard the keys.

Wow ... that reveal has all the impact of the "Who shot JR?" cliffhanger.

Crazy like a fox if you're Heritage! I'm jealous.

Closer to half. An investment I am sure The Mouse is happy with.
