Coin sellers on eBay

This is not a critique or commentary on eBay. But, did anyone else notice the reduction of coin sellers in the last year or so? I don't check eBay that much anymore but was amazed this morning when I did. It seems the mid to small sellers are quite scarce.

10 4. I suspect the PM market, what it is, has a lot to do with it. I suspect a change, when and if, silver or gold makes a substantial turnaround.

    I can't say I've noticed but I would welcome it! >:)

Edit to add...in my favorite category I would say there are more. In the last year the average number of listings in that category has gone from around 16,000 to 21,000.

Prices in the toilet and skyrocketing fees are a bad combination.

How many of those listing are priced at a competitive, market clearing price?

I would surmise that many have moved to Instagram....and others have left due to the fees.... Cheers, RickO

My primary search function for Morgans usually turns up around 24,000 matches.
Of those, only about 1,300 are for auctions.
Of those, only a few hundred have bids at any given time.

In my opinion, eBay has become a come-on. The majority of what I see are fishing expeditions (absurd high prices) for crap toned coins and/or common dates in common grades that are priced at multiples of Greysheet. Is anyone, for example, ever going to hit a BIN for a 1921-P Morgan in MS63 that is priced above MS65 Bid?

    When in doubt, don't.

Too many want to buy at Greysheet, on a Retail cost to sell platfrom.
I will say some times searching dealer WEB sites will find coins without those eBay fees, and when your searching for Bust type coins that can be a substance able savings.

I sold 1 coin on ebay this year. (Really, I did, 1st one in 10 years + that I have listed) :D

Therefore, I am now an expert.
