It's not a coin. Many would call it a token or a spiel mark.

Thank you for posting good photos of your token.

"Spiel Mark" = "play money". Used by kids to "play store" or for games.
Ludwig Christian Lauer made these in Germany from 1842-1891.
He made imitations of coins from various countries.
They were made from various materials, such as copper and plated steel.
Does yours stick to a magnet?
Yours is not listed on the page below, so it may be a scarcer variety.
It may have some value to people who collect tokens.

Here is a similar one which is a $10, made of brass:

Think of it as a 19th century poker chip made out of brass, with the manufacturer's name on it. Coin designs were a popular theme.

Of course, many other card games use token to keep score.

The real thing never had the motto, "In God we trust," included in the design. Perhaps they left off the date and included the motto to avoid counterfeit problems. The quarter eagle was about the size of a dime.

I am also collecting at least one coin for each Roman emperor from Julius Caesar to ... ?

Good detective work.... I can remember as a kid, sometimes the adults would have a card night. If it was not penny ante, then chips of various types were used.... Though I do not recall seeing any that looked like coins. Cheers, RickO

No. It is brass, which is not magnetic.

Neat token from Germany. No idea on value, probably not too much, but a great collectable.
