New Barber Quarters....

Slowly acquiring Barber quarters, trying to find those with minimal intentional human intervention, P30 to P58. Problem is, pictures lie so hard to buy online, and very few in those grades have beans that provide confidence about the originality. Here are 3 I just obtained, would prefer higher grades but still nice.

First, and most importantly, these look really nice. People collecting these in circulated grades should aspire to find coins like this.
Second, your photos, as always, are superb.
Finally...... The way you worded something in your comments set me off a little. Hopefully I can convey what I'm thinking without the whole thread going off the rails into the usual arguments.....
Your taste in coins seems fantastic and I think you know more about coins than I do by a significant margin. That said, I don't think you need a sticker (or even plastic) to know good coins from bad coins in this grade/price range. If you prefer a sticker for the pragmatic reasons of narrowing the number of coins you look through or for added liquidity at sale time, that's perfectly legitimate. It's a good bet that a stickered coin will be acceptable when the on-line photos aren't nice enough to know for sure. If you need a sticker to know if it's original...... well, you don't! A sticker only proves that JA likes a coin at a certain price point.
A great many truly original coins have poor eye appeal. These often don't sticker, even when otherwise technically strong for the grade. A sticker certainly isn't proof of originality. I've submitted newly-dipped coins to JA that came back with stickers where they did not earn one in their previous unattractive state (obviously more applicable in MS grades, but still a valid point). He will also sometimes sticker coins with nice secondary toning.
In this price range you'll be overlooking huge numbers of really nice coins if you insist on a sticker. In many cases, there isn't enough financial reward for dealers or collectors to even bother submitting them.

Bryce, I don't disagree with you here. But, I am not confident that I can judge an online image for problems. Almost every image I see for example, on ebay, is subpar for evaluation, and that is mostly where one will find circulated barbers. My first batch last year was from Tom Bush, I did not even have to question whether the unbeaned NGC holdered barbers had problems - they were from Tom after all (all crossed to PCGS and all but one beaned). But Tom hasn't had a cirulated barber quarter since - just showing how tough these are to get without problems of some type. There are a few dealers on ebay I can trust, and if they have a coin I can judge well enough, without a bean, I would buy it. But these are hard to find.....

I used to hunt these in the wild some years back, and NEVER found a decent 97S, 09O, or 11S in VF-AU (I wasn't seeking any of the Big 3).
Nice original look to those. I like them a lot. Used, but not over used. Very attractive.

For every single coin like these posted, I would estimate I see 350 or so that are worn out, damaged, abused and/or cleaned. They sure served the purpose as money in their time didn't they!

All great Barber quarters, guys. BTW, had I seen that 04-O on Glenn's site before you, I would have grabbed it. Beautiful coin. I have a soft spot for the 04-O, 05-O, and 06-O in original VF. This one qualifies. I tend to stack these like other people stack silver bullion. Can't pass them up.
