1952 Bowman Stan Musial #196 PSA Gem Mint 10

Would like to share a recent special pickup to my collection. Not Stan the Man's Rookie Card but to me his most attractive card.

This is my first Musial card and I appreciate it as a coveted "Mini Mona Lisa" in collecting. It's currently a POP 1 PSA 10. This is the type of card I dreamed of as a kid collecting beat up vintage in the very early 80's.

I think to myself how incredible it is that a 66 year old card of an All Time Legendary HOF'er survives people handling, avoiding thumbtacks/tape/bike spokes etc. and normal wear and tear.

I hope you enjoy a couple pics I took and good luck in your collecting pursuits!!

I saw this up for auction and thought whoever won this card got a gorgeous specimen. Congrats!

The biggest lesson I've learned in this hobby, and in life, is that if you have a strong conviction, you owe it to yourself to see it through. Don't sell yourself, or your investments, short. Unless the facts change. Then sell it all.

    Just amazing, congrats!

With such a relatively recent cert number, I wonder if the story behind this one is a crack-out/resub or if this card was sitting raw in someone's collection all this time.

I saw that on eBay and couldn't believe a 10 could exist. Beautiful card and by your write up it's evident it went to a good home.

That card is sharp and stunning. It looks brand new, like it was just printed. How do cards like that survive all these years?

Absolutely gorgeous card! I bet it avoided all the abuse kids brought to cards back in the early 50’s from not seeing the light of day till decades after the 1950’s I bet it was in an unopened pack maybe? Any history on the card?

As my avatar will attest I am a lifelong fan of Stan Musial. What a great score for you. The colors just radiate and jump out. You should be proud to own such an exquisite example of truly one of the great good guys of all time in baseball.

It sometimes amazes me how even with 66 years of advances in photography and printing, it would be hard to argue that a card from 2018 could be as pleasing to the eye as that one.

Meh, looks like any old piece of cardboard. JK!! I'm with the others. The color and registration on that is absolutely amazing. Being a 1/1 in the 10 holder does make it special, but even in a 9 holder, that would be a card anyone should be proud to own. Congrats on the pickup!!

Did you ask the seller for the background or history of how he came about the card before grading it?

A sham from day one. I am curious how with all the speculation regarding shilling and bid retractions, PWCC became a trusted confidant when advising people how much to bid, and what to bid on.

Why is everybody so upset about this card? Was it determined to be altered or something? I swear, I'm always the last to know about anything around here.
