I'll tell you what, for a big show and the fact that dealers typically don't pack many Jefferson Nickels, it was pretty frickin' awesome! I must have been the only serious Jefferson Nickel guy in the house!

My big find was a newly graded PCGS 1943-D/D FS-501 in.......MS67FS! This will be Pop 1 when I get it attributed. Also picked up 1945-D DDO NGC MS66FS, raw 1938 DDO FS-101 and FS-1101 both unc, 1953 RED and 1940-S/S FS-501, and a few other nice uncirculated pieces. Pretty crazy.

The dealers were fabulous. I spent a fair amount of time with a few sharing a bit about Jeffersons. Hey, no secrets here after I pay for an item! Also, always great to catch up with Dimeman and all his new dime and quarter adventures. Now he is working on a type set where all the coins need to be a variety. Leave it to this guy for a challenge!

Dimeman put me on a quest to find him a Washington 1948-S/S FS-501.............hummmmm............maybe!!!!

Honest question...I have never we t to a show looking for varieties. What is the protocol/etiquette at a coin show for searching varieties. Do you let the dealer know that you are looking or do you just ask to see loads of coins? Just curious.

Fun report! As a fellow variety hunter, I always enjoy your write-ups. Congrats on your finds and looking forward to pics. :)

I usually say I am looking for nice coins, no particular dates and want to see lots of coins! If the dealer asks, are you looking for full steps or varieties? I say , yes when I can find them. Most dealers are pretty cool.

    I'll get some pictures posted.

Not the greatest, but here is the 1943-D/D.

Hey MACGE1, I should have been little more specific on that......the only serious "variety" Jefferson Nickel collector!

    My apologies!
