Which is the better VG 10 1915 Half Dollar?

Picked up this VG 10 1915 Barber half the other day in an older light blue PCGS holder. However, they also had another is an old small ANACS holder. Looking at both the coins I feel like I made the right choice however, the PCGS coin has more detail overall in the wreath BUT the ANACS has a tad more LIBERTY on the headband.... Which is the better coin guys??

I would pick the PCGS one, by far.

Great thanks guys! Any slight chance it could hit an F12 in today's grading?

Pcgs, it is a very close call though

Both are accurately graded, but the PCGS one has a better 'look'.

you will get about 20 percent more when it comes time to sell also in a pcgs holder vs anacs

There is more meat on the PCGS coins, so I will go with that one.

PCGS without a second thought for me.

Not a good Barber grader but I think this one falls short of F12.

The PCGS coin is the one I would pick.

I would pick the first coin (PCGS)... It has more detail overall. Cheers, RickO

    Top coin.

I personally believe it's not worth submitting a coin that is worth approximately $120 for an upgrade. That coin is happy and probably accurately graded in a VG10 slab.

I would almost guess that this was a trick question and that the two were the same coin. If you were on ancestryDNA.com, it would guess first cousins or closer.

Go for the coin in the better wrapper (PCGS). I also would not chance the money on an upgrade.

    I like the PCGS one.

I'm kind of peculiar with low graded coins. Busts without eyes bug the crap out of me. ;)

So, given that the eye on the PCGS coin seems to have more detail, and is much more "eye-like", I'll go with the PCGS coin. (Otherwise, they seem pretty comparable to me).

Two very similar coins. The PCGS holder is what makes the difference as it will have a better reception in the marketplace.

I'd give the ANACS G6. The PCGS is all there for VG.

Both are VG. Not all VG are equal. I try and find coins that look more like the top.

The white balance might be off in the PCGS picture. The coin might and should be more gray looking instead of brown on golden. That piece does look to be sharper.

As to the grade, VG-10 is correct. Anything higher would be wrong and would make this a "C" coin (over graded).

The first coin looks better to me.

Real close but my nod to the PCGS piece.

Please explain how a coin with 4 1/2 letters in LIBERTY visible can only be G6.

ANACS coin was WAY more worn.
