Did I miss the "Who's Going to Central States" thread? Who's going?

I searched back three weeks and couldn't find it.
Despite no grading service grading on-site, should still be a good show. And PCGS will be there accepting submissions for office grading, so you save on shipping.
April 25th-28th in Schaumburg.

PS. We're going - say hi if you're there.

Hi Ian- I am your best customer
. I always come by and say hi at the Central States show! See you then.
I've heard many dealers are revolting and skipping this CS due to the ever increasing fees. Wonder if that has something to do with it??
I believe that the bourse is sold out.
I will be the nerd with a small aluminum case full of 2 Cent Pieces, hope to see you fellow coin nerds on Thursday.
Dealer fees? Do you mean the people that don't stick around long enough for the working class collectors to attend a major show on the weekend?
The people that want our money and than give us the bird because they "have something better to do"?
I did attend the show for two days around three years ago, Thursday and than again Saturday. Saturday was like an old wild west town, I did not see anything except tumbleweeds, but through the dust I did see Charmy and Eagle Eye.
I will be at table 1400. Please stop by and introduce yourself!
Ask for Brad.

I'll be there - despite all the kvetching, CSNS has been one of my best shows for years.

I just learned a new word
We'lll be at 1600
I'll be there. Which of you dealers is ready to buy some nice coins?
I plan on flying in for a day.

Fellas, leave the tight pants to the ladies. If I can count the coins in your pockets you better use them to call a tailor. Stay thirsty my friends......
I'll be there Thursday through Saturday hunched over my photo gear at table 804.
Keeper of the VAM Catalog • Professional Coin Imaging • Prime Number Set • World Coins in Early America • British Trade Dollars • Variety Attribution
Lack of show grading means no kvetching about show grades. Of course, that will be replaced with kvetching about no show grading, so I imagine there's a net kvetching wash this year.

I could drive out there Saturday but at that point is it even worth it?

This show is now nothing more then a big regional show with a major auction. Attendance has dwindled.
A strong statement is the fact NO grading services are on site.
Several dealers are holding off and are going to the EAC show a week later. CSNS has clearly lost its mojo.
And EAC is in Traverse City this year. Wish it was in the summer.

Did this show always charge $5 admission daily? If they do have to charge just make it good for all days. Just like the ANA shows daily admission fees.
Good to know! My mom lives just outside. Time for a visit.

I thought about skipping it this year, but despite the lack of grading onsite, Central States is still a show that many collectors attend. For some, it's the only show of the year they attend.
The venue is convenient once you get there. If you're staying at the hotel attached to the convention space, it's very easy.
I was also surprised by the fee structure for tables (you only get one badge with the table, each additional badge is $75 or $125 or something, whereas other shows you get four I think with a table). But it's really just a way that a dealer is paying for what they need. Some shows we don't need four badges.

CSNS has always been a good show for us and so of course we'll be there. Table 703.

Reading the attendance above, we should have several show reports to read.... I look forward to the tales of treasures found and kvetching about prices and bullion. Cheers, RickO
Ian....I'll be there Thursday and Friday. Hope to see you there.
I'll be there the whole show.

Ill be set up at table 1405. Last year this was my first major show setting up. It was quite the experience, most all positive.
Kalamazoo seems to be a geographical oddity. 2.5 hours away from Centrai States and EAC

I'm excited! Will be there Wed-Sat. If you are not already a member of the Society of Paper Money Collectors, please stop by and say hello at table #200.
They left last week....it's a long walk and the teams of oxen can only travel so far each day.
I’ll be there on Thursday, my first show in almost a year. Do any other modern junkies plan on attending?
W. David Perkins Numismatics will be at our usual Table 910. Please stop by and say hello. We will have a lot of early U.S. silver coins and 18th and 19th Century Type coins.
This rare 1794 LM-2 Half Dime in PCGS AU58 (CAC) will be in attendance. It is ex. J. J. Pittman-Ed Price, and is the Plate Coin in the Logan McCloskey half dime book.
