This is a tired, worn out little game. Drinking is not against the law. Drugs are. Federally. That means everywhere in the U.S. That's my bottom line. If you have a different opinion then so be it.

I guess between you and the other guy, the 6000 veterans in my city getting non-opiate pain medications are all vile, doping devils.

Cmon, guys, let's keep this coin related not poison related.

People are still celebrating Yom Ha'atzmaut. There's tons of ethnic foods and gatherings all through the weekend. I didn't think this to be a big Jewish pop city but I guess so. There's a lot of everyone here which is pretty cool.

It's sitting on an NGC box, so it's coin-related, right?

not a smoker anymore but having plenty of useless drunks in my family I wish they were potheads instead. A lot less misery over the years and a lot less dead bodies on the highway.

About 40 years ago I smoked a joint (her first) with my Mom. Half an hour later, her first words were "What's this supposed to do, anyway".

    Remini-scent? :D

    LOL

The first time mom got cancer we were still living in my childhood house. They had some really low grade trim. I had picked up some "white widow" and blew their minds.

We watched a movie together and they kept asking me if I was okay like every minute. Then I start freaking out thinking I'm giving off some cue like sighing without realizing or twitching or whatever who knows. Finally after almost an hour, I tell the two of them they have asked me if I was okay almost a hundred times and they need to chill lol everything was fine.

Good news is mom survived the cancer (yay!) without losing too much weight, going on painkillers, or suffering chemo side effects so badly. She's still alive 20 years later and does not imbibe.

To make this coin related, I was sitting on the couch Dad used to take when we were looking through change and bags of coins etc. It was brought up from downstairs and moved near the window, which lit the place up. It was great for going through coins where it sat and plenty of room to lay coins out.

ms70, Do you drink alcohol (poison)?

Do you complain about the weekend threads on wine parring with coins?

Or complain about a thread on a good bourbon while relaxing and looking at your coins?

Yes I drink. It's not against federal law or any law for that matter. That argument is so invalid and worn out it's pathetic. Tired rhetoric.

Drinking bleach is not against the law either. Is that better than smoking a plant?

Tobacco is a plant. Last I heard that’s pretty bad for you.

And no I don’t drink alchohol before I get asked.
And I’m not any more fond of the wine tasting threads that get posted here.
Moderation and responsible smoking is probably no big deal but most of the pot smokers I have known seem to think its ok whenever and wherever.

One difference I see with pot smokers and drinkers is that most people who drink don’t wake up in the morning and reach for the bottle. If they do they are considered an alchoholic. Potheads just call it a normal wake and bake.
I think someone needs to tell the masses that legal doesn’t mean it’s ok on your way to work, on your lunch break and while driving your kids home from school.

My favorite comercial of all time was the two guys in the arm chairs talking about how smoking Weed is harmless.

Actually, you can be prosecuted for attempted suicide.
Worse if coin related!!!! If you drink bleach and intentionally spit at a coin to make it tone then, even if you miss, there are still some who might consider you still to be guilty of attempted murder. And you're potentially still risking the $20 grading fee.

In the spirit of lively legal philosophical debate, I wonder how many here who are strictly law-abiding citizens will check to see when the laws defining consensual sodomy in whatever state they may have lived in were changed so that oral sex with members of the other sex was no longer illegal (as in even at home with your wife). You might be surprised ;)

Come on guys, I personally hav'nt smoked the stuff in 15 years, and in my personal opinion it's harmless in moderation, (if not beneficial) and if you read the most current published medical papers at some of the most prestigious universities it's pretty hard to find any compelling evidence to the contrary.

Now as far as alcohol is concerned

Anyone who thinks drinking alchohol in any quantity over what is considered social drinking and think that its better for you, well we will agree to disagree.

At FUN (2004?), the oft-noted Magic Mark and I were dipping some coins in his suite one night.
The next morning on the bourse he showed me a few. Not white, but very lightly tinged yellow. Said he found out that morning after he woke up that he was less messed up than he thought he'd been when he figured out there was too much sulfur in the local water supply.
And may any day be a happy 4/21 to you :p

Don't forget, "acceptable levels" doesn't mean "safe" when it comes to our water. Sometimes in sci-fi movies about the future, people will sometimes refer back to "when we were slowly poisoning earth with fluoride", haha.

Women administered poisonous belladonna in their eyes in the 1920s to enlarge their pupils. It was considered more attractive (e.g., Betty boop).

Colloidal silver was overused (now has been found to have trace medical uses). Mercury was used for human consumption.

Every person at the age of 21 should be able to buy what they want. Tbh, caffeine and energy drinks should be on the list. You've gotta be 21 to buy tobacco products and they card if you're under 50. I think it's acceptable at that age for adults to make informed decisions on thc/cbd, tobacco and alcohol. Service members should get a pass. But that's a whole other subject.

All I wanted for 4/20 was to see a nice coin from 420/1420 BC/AD. =(
