I wish it cost less then $150 minimum to have a coin graded at a PCGS show.

I see that the cheaper services are 5 or 10 coin minimum. PCGS is coming close to me here in New Orleans soon and I was debating to go or not. I went last year and had a less then stellar experience.
What is there that appeals to the average collector at one of their shows? Window shopping?

Time(liness) is money! If you want faster turnaround time, than the weeks or months for standard service, you will have to pay for it.
I can certainly wait for the standard service because I don't want to shell out the extra $$$...unless it was a truly exceptional find in which I needed to sell at that particular show.

Why are the turn around times so bad right now? There are people I know that have been waiting over two months!

This 2 month BS is why I don't slab coins or play the crack-and-cross game. Maybe when it's worth waiting for a possible 10k or something.
My recent turnaround for that coin was pretty good on a regular submission, so I'm happy about that.
No reason to pay so much more for on site grading.

I'll do it for $75
I just had a bulk Morgan order show up at my PO, finishing in 2 weeks -- at least a month before I expected it to, much to my surprise. The previous one took 3 months. Of course, like other reports of specific turn-around times, these are purely anecdotal and not intended to represent general times.
On-site show grading has its place, and once in a while it makes sense for me, but usually not. Another big seller at shows is special labels, which is a Really Big Deal for some, but not for me.

Mine has been 2 months and 14 days and I dont mind the wait. I guess I have plenty of time on my hands to do other things to do.

I'm sorry 2 1/2 months is ridiculous.
I was thinking of sending some in this month, but I dont think it's worth the hassle if it's going to take that long.

I think because mine are from the Civil War era it might be taking some extra time deciding if the rarety is a 66+ or a 67!

....the sooner you submit them,
the faster the 2 months go.......
You could try looking for a major local submitter and piggy back on them saving $$.
Any wait is worth it if you get your grades (or better). Remember, it's only the market that demands third party grading.

Unless one has an impatient buyer, I do not understand the concern over grading times. The coins go, they will be back. Just part of the process. Now, I like having my coins accessible (which is why I do not have an SDB)...but if you want a grade, then it will take time. Relax and buy more coins....

Submit the coins at the New Orleans show and have them graded economy. You don’t have to pay to ship the coins to California and PCGS will send the coins back to you. You don’t have to waste your time going to the post office and mess with packaging. Who cares if it takes 4 or 8 weeks for grading if it’s part of a long term collection.
There is a practical limit to how many coins they can grade on site, so the extra cost of traveling, moving equipment, etc. probably dictates what they need to charge to make it worth the hassle.
I didn't realize that you could do other submission options besides the show options at a show. If that is correct, then it would be worth going.
