When I was President of SB, I hired Mark as an intern to work at our SB store in NYC. He was a fabulous kid with a great future. I had met him at a CSNS Show, and as a Seated Dollar Nut, I could relate to him and his father Steve. I'll never forget the day over the Labor Day weekend in 2011 when I got the call that he passed away. I, like so many others, was devastated. I think of him constantly, and know the numismatic community, as well as his family, lost a wonderful person way to early. I appreciate these posts as they bring back great memories.
So many nice comments. He is missed. Thanks to all of you who were so generous with your time and kind to him.
PS. The MnS set of SDs remains and now is an MS-62 set. Hope to see some of you at Central States. Will be at the LSCC meeting and helping Dave Heinrich at the youth treasure hunt. Plus looking for some SDs. Please see my Gobrecht article on the rarity of SDs and let me know what you think!
