When I was young my grandmother gave a paperweight she got from her local bank. It was a Morgan silver dollar encased in Lucite with the name of the bank engraved on it. I always lamented the "waste" of the silver dollar and might well have tried to chip it out if not for the fact that it had been highly polished. In time I came to appreciate it for what it was in its new life, not lament what it was in was in its prior life.
Someone found this 1926 Peace Dollar paperweight at a garage for 4 bucks. I bought it from her for 8 bucks. Too bad some saw fit to abrasively clean this coin before encasing it.

I think that's cool!
In honor of the memory of Cpl. Michael E. Thompson
I never seen one like that...I like it!
I like Ike! (even a floating one).

Here is mine....purchased several years ago from the US Mint.
I worked in cell cast acrylics and would say it is harder to remove the to encase. Great looking paper weights.
Best place to buy !

Welcome to Woonsocket - Please drive slow your car!
Darn you all to heck. Now I might have another area to collect.
Very cool.
Do a search of "coin toilet seat" on eBay. Lots of interesting options.
This is my favorite.

I really like the OP's paper weight. I occasionally check eBay but haven't splurged yet.
Great transactions with oih82w8, JasonGaming, Moose1913.
"where is the coin?" mine has no coin in it....

It bothers me when the date of the coin does NOT match the date on the corresponding holder. GRRR.

Maybe he the seal "made a deposit".
Or, that may be a treasury seal...
Some encased coins can be set free with acetone...depending on the material....a messy job though....Cheers, RickO
