My new toned gold Medal purchase. Does pcgs grade these? UPDATE

I used my ebay bucks to buy this. Any idea if ngc or pcgs would grade these? I would love to get it in a holder either way. 1976 Bi-Centenary of Cook's 3rd voyage gold medal. 9k gold, 30.7g, 42mm. Designed by James Berry & issued by Eastern & Central Savings Bank.

Finally arrived from Australia today. The relief on this thing is amazing! I would love to get it in a pcgs or ngc holder. Anyone have any insight on if this is possible?
Why would you need to have it graded? The market for these probably doesn't care about slabs.
I am mainly just wanting to get it into a nice holder for protection. I don't like it in a flip.

I ended up sending it to NGC, and it is finally scheduled for grading, and it looks like they have it listed as Bronze. What the heck?? Is there a chance this is bronze? Here is a pictures of what the silver and bronze ones are supposed to look like:
How much is the bronze one supposed to weigh? How does that compare to yours?
I am not sure, it's hard finding info about them. Should they be able to easily scan it and see if it is 9k gold?

Would think that heavy gold plate would look better than 9k gold. At just 0.375 fine, the color and other properties of gold are lost.
I thought it looked like bronze in your pics, but I have no experience with these. Are you sure it isn't 9K gold plated bronze, for example? Even at 9K seems odd to make it as large as the others. But that is just speculation on my part. The color is interesting but very "diverse".
I would imagine that NGC would have an XRF scanner to at least confirm it. Have you called them to double check it?
I saw it a few minutes after they closed for the day. I will call tomorrow.
9 karat gold means the medal is made up of 15 parts “other” metal. 9 parts gold and 15 parts other. It’s going to be called bronze I’m afraid

Even if they have a silver and bronze version? As long as they say it is 9k gold and the rest bronze, that's fine. 9k gold for this size and weight is still worth a lot more than all bronze.
Let us know what they say. I'd be interested. The could label it yellow metal I suppose.

At this point, I don't care what they call it, as long as it really is 9k gold. I paid just a bit over melt for it, but that was still a significant amount if it turns out to just be bronze.
Well...you got it holdered...you did not say anything about being attributed the way you wanted.
Is it hallmarked with the karat rating?

I just now got notification that it is scheduled for grading. Not graded yet, but it is listed as a bronze medal in the details.
Did you write any comments on the submission form about it being 9k gold?
They might have just put it in as bronze on a whim, probably not giving too much thought about this. Of course it is special to you, but it's just another piece to grade over there.
I would call them again and make sure it is labeled correctly since it is important to you. You might have to pay for their metallurgical analysis, which I think is around 50 bucks.

Well, I called them just now, and was pulling it up online to give them the submission number, and it looks like it has been corrected to GOLD now. I have no clue why it was saying bronze last night. Shew!

No, it had no marks on it about the purity or anything. I went off the auction I bought it from, and it matched one other auction result I was able to find on another site.
