    mvs7, I was thrilled to pick up the 1871-S. B) It did not last long at DWN. I had noticed some time ago that such a coin was in the CAC population report but never imagined I would have a chance to add it to my set. It will replace an AU58 with less eye appeal.

    Very cool. I hope you enjoy it! Just looked at your set and it looks like you also picked up the 1875-S - that one I actually bought raw before submitting and beaning. All of the San Francisco $2.50s at DWN last week were out of my now-retired, No. 1-before-Hansen-showed-up Pasadena Collection. I kept a few for my box of 20, sold some to DWN, and traded some of the lesser pieces for a Norris, Gregg and Norris 1849 $5 in PCGS VF35/CAC.
