    I like the improvement over the 1917 version with a lot better hair on Liberty, and feather detail on reverse - very crisp.

    The detail on the DC Eagle is superlative! Here's another for comparison (not mine).

    I am thinking about getting it graded or at least in a holder. What are your thoughts on that?

    Does only ANACS grade them?

    ANACS does;

    The 3rd party certification company ANACS will now grade and certify all coins, tokens, and medals minted by Daniel Carr. This includes both those issued under the Moonlight Mint entity as well as the Clark Gruber entity. ANACS will use labels specially-designed by Daniel Carr.

    http://www.moonlightmint.com/anacs.htm

    And ICG does as well.

    Here is a set of images from ANACS. You can get them for an additional $3 per coin and download them from their website. They do pretty good work on his items...

    Yes. Significant or unusual host coin ghosting, being an atypical strike variance, is considered a DAM :wink:

    I have a couple that I need to get images of. I have three State Quarters; 1999-S Connecticut Silver PR69DC, 1999-P Connecticut MS67 and 2002-S Mississippi Silver PR69DC. Thanks for pointing that out that I am missing a few images from my virtual 7070 album.

    I like my D. Carr pieces so much that I had them encapsulated through ANACS as a protective measure.

    ANACS encapsulation is excellent for DC items, unless they are too large for the holders. Cant' say the same thing for their Imaging Department ~ would not currently give my recommend that service .
