was thinking it would be a 90 percent silver coin, but it's a good looking error quarter. used to go to the banks and ask for half dollar rolls and find some 90 percent and 40 percent there, not so much anymore. 90 percent in change still happens, but only maybe once a year

It's amazing how long rarities can circulate now days without anyone noticing. That 33 year old coin has about 38 years of wear on it so it has passed through a large number of hands.
These find's are getting less and less frequent, for several reasons. Mostly, people are mostly using plastic, and secondary, people just dont look at their change anymore, So kudos do you.
No magnifying glass is needed for that one! Nice find.
Only once have I ever found a Washington Quarter in change that had an obvious error. This happened on my last day of college classes in 1967 or 1968. The coin was about 15% off center. I quickly took the coin to the local dealer in town and sold it for a few dollars profit. College students needed money more than errors back then ... they probably still do today.
