They are the best. Maybe Brady is the best ever. But.....watch out for the Rams. They are the real deal. Team of the future. Until then, God those Patriots are UNREAL!!!!!
I live 30 minutes south of the stadium so it has been a fun ride BUT I will also add watch Jimmy G and what he can do for a previously dysfunctional SF team. Bad move to let him go. PAts were 5-11 before Brady and have never looked back.
I do not watch football... or any ball sport.... to me, it is a waste of time. If they would leave the ball alone, there would be no issue. That being said, I have seen a lot of recent news about the Patriots... never read it, but must be something good happening. Cheers, RickO
If you cannot see the difference in facial expressions in those photographs, then you just don't understand Coach Belichick. He really is smiling in the first one. Here in Maine, the heart of Patriot's Nation, we are all riding high on this latest run for the Lombardi Trophy. Now it's on to the AFC Championship next week. Go Pats!

This year I am split. I grew up following the Philadelphia Eagles and adopted the Patriots when I lived in New England.
The Eagles have not "won it all" since 1960 when there was no Super Bowl and only an NFL Championship Game. I couldn’t see that game, when they beat the Green Bay Packers, because it was played in Philadelphia and blacked out on local TV. The local TV stations could only give updates on the score. It was shown on video tape at 11 o’clock at night after the game was over. Since I was 11 years old, that didn’t work for me.
How times have changed! Given the huge advertising revenues that Super Bowl games generate these days, no TV executive in their right mind would even consider blacking out that annual event.
I am rooting for both the Patriots and the Eagles. I was surprised that the Eagles got by Atlanta yesterday given their quarterback issues. If Carson Wentz had not gone down, I think that they could have run the table. Now it’s going to be up to the defense, which is strong.
If the Super Bowl comes down to the Eagles and Patriots, I’ll root for the Eagles because it’s been so long since they have won. The Philadelphia fans have been long suffering, like the Patriots fans once were before the Belichick – Brady era. But I won’t be sad if the Patriots win.
And, yes, Bill Belichick is the greatest coach of all time and Brady is probably the greatest "money quarterback." When the chips are down, he usually steps up.

Living in Buffalo, I'm supposed to hate the Pats.....
I grew up 2 doors away from their kickers dad. There were 30 or 35 guys around the same age in my neighborhood. That includes the five Gostkowski's. Needless to say, there was always a 'game' of some sort in which to prove your masculinity. Well, anyway, we always said, "when I get married, if I have a boy, I'm going to take him to the football field on the weekend and teach him to kick field goals." Well, Larry did just that ! You can't tell me that Steven won't be in the 'Hall of Fame'.....The best kicker I've ever seen !
Look at his numbers, it's hard to argue. I have to like them !!! Go Pats !!!!
I ignored the thread since it was posted.......finally opened it up. Some folks still have ill feelings toward the NFL and team owners since the Kapernik kneeling fiasco. Maybe take it to a sports forum you might find some interest. .....maybe.

How 'bout the end of that Vikings game?????
The Pittsburgh and New Orleans games were examples of how coaches lose games. On two occasions Pittsburgh had a 4th down and short. Instead of using a quarterback sneak or a straight hand-off with a big push from the line Tomlin calls for a pitch-out which forces the runner to make a 5 or 6 yard run instead of a one foot run . Both failed. Then he called for a poorly executed on side kick that was earlier in the game than necessary. That resulted in the winning field goal for Jacksonville.
Say what you will about how slow Brady is. He knows how to execute a quarterback sneak. He is a master at it, even when everybody in the stadium, with a brain, knows it's coming.
The New Orleans coach wasted two second half timeouts on ill advised challenges. And then with 10 seconds to go in the game with the lead, he fails to position any deep men down field to prevent a touchdown run. Dumb. Chalk both losses up to the head coaches.

Agreed. When the Patriots let Adam Vinateri go to the Colts in 2006 as a free agent, most Pats fans were crushed. What was Coach Belichick thinking?! Now, after 11 seasons with Steven Gostowski, the most often heard refrain from Pats fans is "Adam who?".

I don't know about that. The play-off games have yielded some nail biters and surprises. I don't see any team running away with it this year. Even the Vikings, who are the darlings of many sportswriters, were darn lucky to survive.

That one recent storm hit Logan a lot harder than Providence or Hartford, and in general Logan can be a pain to get to. We have two daughters going to college in central Massachusetts, and they came home for Christmas out of Hartford. Other times they have used Providence. If you are flying a charter rather than having to make connections, a smaller airport makes more sense.

...how the hell is it gonna take you over a week after the super bowl ends to post this...you must have been stranded on an island or deep into an African safari just drooling to get back to the internet and post this...A little late but still funny none the less...Congrats
After a great run they have a Superbowl loss. Then the off season finger pointing begins and the hasty trades are made and all of a sudden you're having a 10-6 season and get knocked out of the playoffs next year. It's no problem for the bandwagon fans they'll just switch to whoever is winning next year. But the die hard Pat's fans? It's gonna be brutal going years, maybe decades before having another run like that.
I'm a Miami fan, we had our time in the early '70's. When it ended, it was like the door slammed shut never to be opened again. That was almost fifty years ago and Miami hasn't had a good season since.
Wisdom has been chasing you but, you've always been faster
Yes, a lot of fans don't realize that winning it all for your team can be almost a once in a lifetime thing. Sometimes it’s a never in a lifetime thing. The Philadelphia Phillies moved to Philly from Worcester, Massachusetts in 1883. They won their first World Series in 1980. When the Eagles won the NFL Championship in 1960, who knew that it would be 57 years before they would win again?
So many things can go wrong, and sometimes you can have the better team and then lose because of a dumb play or a bad break. Does anyone remember the New England - Seattle Super Bowl game where the Russel Wilson threw an ill-advised pass at the end of the game that was intercepted? Seattle almost had the game won, and then they lost. Yea, it's just that easy to lose.

Pats fans can recycle the old pre-2004 Red Sox slogan; "there's always next year". Except in the case of the Patriots the chances are pretty good.
