If we were all the same, the world would be an incredibly boring place.

looks like a die chip, but that is not why people are bidding so heavy
it also looks like full step which would make it a $500+ nickel
It's advertised with full steps.
Where would a star come from ?
Just my opinion...........doesn't look FS to me. The bottom looks incomplete.
It would account for the increased bidding.
Pete
I agree, the bottoms under column 2 and 3 look incomplete, but it is a picture and looks close.

IMO, This coin has 5 FS. These exist with 6 FS.
Long ago there was only FS. Then 5 FS. Then 6 FS. BTW, in the 1990's the "old" PCI would assign 5 1/2 Steps to coins.
Agree, FS with die chip.
Interesting.........didn't know that. Thanks
Pete
Yep... die chip in the 5... cannot see the 5th step in the enlarged picture... It could be there, concealed by the lighting... However, I would not gamble the premium on 'might'... Cheers, RickO
If you are going to play the "full steps" game buy only coins that are already slabbed as such.
I agree and feel that is one of the most expensive raw Jeffersons I have seen.
