You might have got 'front run' by your broker, unless you were placing the orders yourself using an online broker. :o
Your NRP position would have been a few days worth of the average trading volume.

The combination of gradeflation eating into value and opportunity cost being too high right now is a huge double whammy. If I had instead invested the funds utilized to repurchase the seated set, I could have paid for it from the profits.

    Ouch!

So, what was previously housed in your marble holder?

Q: When does a collector become a numismatist?

A: The year they spend more on their library than their coin collection.

A numismatist is judged more on the content of their library than the content of their cabinet.

I’ve turned a collection into real estate (on a tiny scale). It’s amazing to consider the actual value (and opportunity cost) when it’s tangible and right there in front of you.

I would rather think that TDN will not move far from his numismatic roots. Numismatic investments for most of us move at a galactic pace but TDN has the ability to pick winners. He recognized that the greatest profit potential is at the very high end of the market, and has been for some years now. But the high end market is changing as it's age demographic is rather old. We are yet to know if the new breed of high end collectors will support the current price levels.

With all of that uncertainity, and considering TDN's numismatic affection, I think that he will turn his focus to modern "coins"........like crypto currency like Bitcoin et al. But I think he is secretely working on his own cryptocurrency that wilol have dates and mint marks........and maybe even PCGS and CAC stickers. And of course a guaranteed buyback to establish the market. And every coin will be PR70.

Real estate is always an interesting area in which to invest. Whether the market is trending up, trending down or flat lined, people with talents and abilities in the field can make money.

A very esoteric corner of the real estate filed which can produce excellent returns is the purchase and subsequent enforcement of court judgments secured by judicial liens encumbering real property. Once purchased these judgments can be enforced in a variety of ways.

$10,000,000 in an index fund in January of 2013 is worth over $23,000,000. Hard to beat that return.

Congrats on the beautiful sets and great pad. Must be a par three to only have that many balls on the lot.

If I was the owner of two of the most valuable American coins I wouldn’t be posting my new homes floor plans on a public forum. It took me all of two seconds with the panoramic view shots to figure out the house is in Las Vegas. It’s also very common knowledge who TDN is. I’m glad the coins are in a SDB in Spokane but try convincing that to some random troll.

I have to disagree that it's common knowledge who tdn is unless you are in the numismatic business or knowledgeable collector.
There are tons of millionaires in vegas and a handful of billionaires so doubt there is much to worry about as I'm sure his security system will be high tech.

I'm a "shut-in" so I don't know who he is. I should like to meet him but now that his Trade dollars are gone I don't know what we would talk about. I suppose I can Google the owner of the two coins he posted. Perhaps he will post his name in this thread.

Plenty of helicopter tour company's in vegas if someone wants to see landscape layouts. He also did not post full plan designs. All I saw was a pool house and partial rear floor plan that is an open design layout of what looks to be a bar area and game room.

I have no idea about Vegas, but in many municipalities between GIS data and public record building permits you can get pretty much the same level of detail.

Thankfully most low level criminals and stupid and lazy. And high end criminals are going to be doing a lot more prep work than finding a rough and very incomplete layout.
