It's 2018, is the Doom and Gloom over? Post a happy coin

A few positive threads are on the first page right now implying that our beloved hobby is doing alright. This is breaking from the traditional "graying of the hobby-market is in the toilet-sky is falling" melodrama Ive been accustomed to reading for the last several months/years.
Could everything really be ok?
Are there still collectors out there adding to their collections? Will we look back on the last few years as "buying opportunites" as the market regains its strength , and if so, in which areas should we have focused?
Perhaps the Doom and Gloom days are behind us!
Post a coin or similar round shaped, metal object that makes you happy!

That's neat, @Zoins. Counterstamped on back of a Lincoln cent? Are you a Jersey boy like me? I work not 20min from Morristown

From the “Seeing Eye”. Being from Morristown myself.
Yep, it's on a Lincoln cent! I used to live in Jersey 45 min from Morristown but it's been a while now. Still have great memories!
Well, we still have to deal with the "DTs".
I guess this PCI toned ASE would qualify. Haven't seen another where the toning ring that separates the colors actually changes color.
This one always does the trick for me:

Did you say doom and gloom ?
I'm keeping my eye on this thread....

.
This one sure makes me happy

I didn't realize I was in the company of so many fellow Jersyans. 15 min from Morristown!
Here's one that I enjoy.
drddm, I just can't stop looking at that half!
It's kind of cool that this had blue toning on the left and red/maroon toning on the right.

I have been on this forum for around nineteen years or so... and the doom and gloom has always been here.... no YN's, graying of collectors, prices in the toilet, etc., etc., etc.,..... Always some moaning and groaning.... Fortunately, there is also some cheerful threads that manage to bring some joy to the forum.... I am now used to the 'death of numismatics' theme and consider it to be a hallmark of collector/dealers...much like the weather and farming...Cheers, RickO
Nice coins, everyone. Hope 2018 is good to you all
