What age makes you think "wow they are young" at a coin show?

With a lot of recent posts mentioning things such as the lack of new collectors, young people having no interest in coins, aging collector base, etc. What age do you think of when you think of a young numismatic? I am not talking about legal age limit of 18 but when you see someone at a show and think how young they are compared to the rest of the group. If that makes any sense.

Babies.
Anyone under my middle aged self.
Chronological age and physiological age are very different. Some 70 year-olds look young. Some 30 year-olds look like garbage. In the context of a coin shows, early 20s and below stand out.
I was going to go with 50, but that wasn't an option.
If they come in with a pacifier and bottle...........well..........I think that would clinch it

I'm 58 and I don't see anyone younger than me, most of the time.
Actually, I was the one who felt young once (and I've told this story before) but a few years ago, an 80 year old dealer asked me as I approached his table "what are you looking for today, sonny?!!!!"
I said "I haven't been called sonny since Nixon was in office".
"“Those who sacrifice liberty for security/safety deserve neither.“(Benjamin Franklin)
"I only golf on days that end in 'Y'" (DE59)
Well... I am in the 'old' category, mid 70's... though two years ago, I was carded in a bar....Made me feel good...
Later I thought 'Maybe the bartender had been sampling his stock.'.... However, when I used to go to shows in the PNW, especially the small shows (big shows often bring in the younger collectors), attendees in the 30's would stand out... Larger shows would have the entire age spectrum, so did not really take special notice. Cheers, RickO
19-24
At that age most have other things on the brain. Cars, graduating high school, going to college, starting a career.
HAPPY COLLECTING
I said <18. I think before cars and college is a good time. This interest will carry them through college and their early career.
It's nice to see anyone under thirty.

Probably anyone under 40.
Younger coin people , I find to be more intellectual than I ever was , at their age. They remind me of how much I already forgot. That's to their advantage. Enjoy youth. It's a gift.

An option is missing:
"I'm a young numismatist.
The grownups think I'm nifty.
I run about and laugh and play.
It's true, I'm only fifty!"

I'm not that old so I voted less than 18 years old. I love seeing young kids at the shows.

I can't say about coin shows, but I worked for a major "Ivy League" type college indoctrination center for over 20 years. I was in IT and somewhat isolated from the students, but every time I had to go across campus, I wondered who let the 8th graders in.
You want young lookin'....
If it was a stamp show (do they have these anymore?) I would have said 85
It's nice to see the future of the hobby on the floor
I don’t see the age of 10 years old listed but that’s how old my grandson is that accompanies me to many coin shows. So, my answer is 10 years old and a really good age to get them interested. He’s a good little man
19-24 seems about right to me. fwiw

How about a poll of the ages of the Forum members.
That should give a good " snapshot" of the age of active collectors.
AFAIK there are no " kids" on this forum.

A poll of ages was done not long ago at all.
Results were surprising......more whippersnappers here than you'd think.

Females not married to a dealer. What ever age that is, there are not many.

I have never been to a coin show, so I can't vote.
To be honest I see a lot more in the <18 range than in the 18-30 range. Once the responsibilities start to pile up numismatics seems to fall out of favor.

This is why it's good to get interest <18 so after they are settled in and 30+ the can come back to their childhood hobbies. Happens with muscle cars too.
Years ago at a coin show and thought a lot of them looked very young.
Than over the PA system they announced would someone who left a
Barbie doll please pick it up at table 112.

@Walkerfan thanks for the link...
Kinda proves the point I think.
Coins for a hobby itself is not the problem.
The problem is young people do not have " hobbies " .
When I was growing up as a kid in the 50's EVERY KID had a hobby, building model airplanes, model car kits, rockets etc.
and at least for me living in the Northeast coin and stamp collecting was a great INDOOR hobby all winter when the snow was piling up outside.
Hobby shops were everywhere in every neighborhood, try to find one now.
So it's not that coin collecting is a dying hobby all forms of what we called " hobbies " are disappearing.

They do have hobbies, it is just that hobbies are changing. I am not sure I would consider surfing the interest or my phone for hours a hobby, but video games certainly are.
