Superb question. Have been trying to answer this question, in the last two days.
I have several series that are 95 to 98% completed (Lincolns, Washington, Type Set (no gold), IHC's (90%) ), have begun a couple other series (Buffalo nickels, Standing Liberty quarters, Peace $), and have purchased several coins outside of series' that I collect, because they have excellent eye appeal/undergraded/or flip for profit.
Unless I can sell at/close to price guide, I am not going to sell the spare coins that have been upgraded over the last couple of years. Have no reason to not let them set in the safe deposit box. In my humble opinion, there is NO difference in letting 50 coins that cost $100 per, versus one $5K coin.......the loss percentage is probably the same.
If everything goes well..........I should still be here on the Boards. In the meantime, I'm going to review my coins and refresh my mind about what I have.........and want.

I am not possessed with clairvoyant vision, or precognition, and therefore cannot foresee where I will be in two years, but I do hope that it will be on this side of the grass.

Probably in a holding pattern -- actively engaged with the hobby mainly when it's too awful outside to do all the hiking/skiing/fishing/running/hunting types of stuff I like; reading and learning, trying to maintain a sense of the pulse and mood of the hobby, and adding a nice piece to the collection every winter, maybe two if the opportunity seems right. That's all pretty much what I've been doing since '14.
I am only focusing on a few type coins I need for my type set and ignoring everything else. They are hard to find, let alone at prices and grades I like. I haven't bought anything in two years, and if I find any of these coins, with their pricing, you're looking at one coin per year. If I don't find any of them, I won't be buying anything for another two years.

1 I am back in the hobby full time as I was from 2008-2011 or 12.
2 I might put all my hobbies on hold to work towards my lifelong dream of owning a classic car,the money involved in that would mean I have to give up everything else except the medicine that keeps me alive.
3, which would be the least satisfying, would be if I don't do either of the above and just let it slip away.
I've been wanting to do goal #2 here my whole life...my health is not great and I'm not sure how much longer I will be able to really appreciate car shows. I really want to do it before it's too late. As it is I overdid it in September and have not fully recovered yet. Being born with multiple health problems really stinks. Sad thing is that the car that I want... A Chevrolet El Camino, preferably 1973-76 time span, are not really that expensive. Some of you guys on this forum could buy one a week and have money to spare...but to me it's about as hard to get as a 1933 double eagle.
My 2020 vision (get it?) tells me that if I am still around, I will have more coins...likely silver and gold.... and will perhaps have attended my first FUN show by then.... Cheers, RickO
I can say with absolute certainty that I will be two years older, unless I unleash that anti-aging secret I keep hidden among my pile of 1815 large cents.
Enjoying the rave reviews (cough, cough) for the piece that I recently volunteered to write in the July, 2019 "The Numismatist" (e.g. 50 years after Apollo 11) on space flown numismatic items.

Most likely doing the same as this year and in the same location.
My main concern, at my age (58), is my golf game doesn't start going to pieces.

I see myself with more coins and less money.
A: The year they spend more on their library than their coin collection.
A numismatist is judged more on the content of their library than the content of their cabinet.
With less coins and more $

I see myself hitting the lottery and buying some rare coins, I'll let you know which coins when the time comes.
Good luck

I love all the serious answers to the question, apparently no one read the punchline
Okay. I could be out of the hobby, ice fishing in Chimoubougau six months out of the year.

I would like a box of 20 coins that equals a price guide of greater than $10,000.

I don't have 2020 vision now, and I probably won't have 2020 vision two years from now in 2020.
