The San Diego is one of my favorite (affordable) commemoratives, and that one is a great example. If the design of the seated female on the obverse and the general artistry of the design seem vaguely reminiscent, it's no accident. Twenty years earlier, Robert I. Aitken used another helmeted goddess on the obverse of the 1915-S Panama-Pacific $50 gold coins.
Nice pickup there! (And a great brother, too, apparently.)
