People on the Internet have told me that the reverse on this dollar "is not a toner" despite the fact that I totally sure that it is 100% NT.
Retired dealer and avid collector of U.S. type coins, 19th century presidential campaign medalets and selected medals. In recent years I have been working on a set of British coins - at least one coin from each king or queen who issued pieces that are collectible. I am also collecting at least one coin for each Roman emperor from Julius Caesar to ... ?
Bill, yours is a toner for sure. Just not what they call a monster, but for sure is NT. Found this one (and a reverse cousin) in a dealer box years ago. That's not a slab, still in a plastic 2x2.

U.S. Type Set
I cannot find any....

Cheers, RickO
This one toned in a Twentieth Century Type set. I turned it around to see if the obverse would tone. The results were not as good.

It's toned to me...
1883 VAM 9. Super-tough variety. Strong doubling on the date (for an 1883 Morgan), doubled stars. It's still raw, but out for grading.

Nice raw toner and mint as well @SkyMan
Most recent pick up....love the subtle rim toning....

@Walkerguy21D That looks like one heck of a 78-CC, can we see the obverse?
@CascadeChris that toning is ideal

Thanks but I’m out of town now. It’s a rather mundane baggy obverse with pink toning.
