1795 FH $1 for the Registry Set

SkyManSkyMan Posts: 9,493 ✭✭✭✭✭

I've wanted one of these for some time now. This was my big ticket purchase for the year. It's graded PCGS VF30. I always wonder what transactions these suckers witnessed in their lifetime... maybe part of a land purchase on the wild West frontier (say, near Pittsburgh)? The images are by Bob Campbell, and I think he did an excellent job.

I love it! These have come down quite a bit, in my opinion, from their previous prices just less than ten years ago. I think they are a tremendous value.

Gorgeous and very original example! My ONLY concern are the dark spots around the perimeter on the reverse. In some cases toning can start to turn terminal and start causing damage to a coin. Again just my opinion.

All coins kept in bank vaults.

Great coin but I think I recognize her from a transaction in Cincinnati in 1805. :D

Q: When does a collector become a numismatist?

A: The year they spend more on their library than their coin collection.

A numismatist is judged more on the content of their library than the content of their cabinet.
