I have never bought from them. I find their photos are far below average and hard to see detail.

I buy from my local dealers here, it's around 10k to 15k a week. But never bought from him. Looks like he has some nice stuff.

I bought one coin from them. Recently sold it. Strange, as I check their website and inventory quite often.

I bought this from them before pictures were prolific. I asked if the plug could be easily removed, they said yes. Not sure what they were looking at. I kept it because i thought it was kind of neat. Never bought from them again though, considered it pretty much a lie.

I think that plug would be easy to remove by either drill or punch. Here's one of a dozen or more that I've purchased from JJT.

I bought this from them in 2014. It is in a rattler holder and is probably closer to a VF35 by current standards. Interestingly, I was the underbidder for this same coin in a Heritage auction in 2012, and paid less in 2014 than my previous underbid. 1876-S is the rarest With Motto S-Mint half eagle, with only 4,000 minted and probably 60-75 known today.

Bought from them years ago when I traveled to Boston often. Had a number of raw MS type coins, later slabbed when slabs came along. Everything graded at or better than I expected. Sold therm during a needy period years ago so I can't share, but all positive.

I am pretty sure I purchased a coin from them years ago.... or one from someone who bought it from them... not sure, have to think about that. They do have nice coins and a good reputation. Cheers, RickO

Gail and Liz are great. I remember picking up coins from Gail while she was at Bowers and Merena as well.

Here is my favorite from Gail while at J.J. Teaparty

I could not let a thread with a title like "Over the years I've spent more $$ on coins from JJT than any other dealers" without adding my own comments. According to my half dime database, I have purchased coins from over 400 dealers in my collecting experience. But none have provided the consistency of quality and customer service equal to that provided by J. J. Teaparty, and specifically by Liz Coggan. I made my first half dime purchase from Teaparty in 1989, an 1867-S example, and have continued pretty much until this day. By a large margin, I have purchased more from Teaparty than from any other dealer in that three-decades-long period, and have been privileged to develop a strong relationship with Liz, Gail, and company. They are one of the few dealers in my experience who actually work a 'want list', and continually submitted coins for my approval according to my list. And as this system continued, they learned my particular taste, so there were fewer returns as time went on. They have worked with me to finance a few of the more expensive coins, and always expressed a sincere interest in my collecting pursuits. One of my favorite activities in this hobby is to occasionally sit back, 'smell the roses', and just enjoy the coins already in my collection. Sometimes, when doing so, I identify a coin which needs to be upgraded in order to 'belong' in my collection, but then there are the coins which make you pause and appreciate their eye appeal and quality, and you ask yourself "Gee, that coin is beautiful! I wonder who I purchased it from?" And 9 times out of 10 it was purchased from J. J. Teaparty. I can unequivocally and without hesitation recommend J. J. Teaparty as my favorite dealer.
