It's hard to believe that some people get pleasure out of be-littling others an putting them in "gotcha" moments.

We get hung up on stereotypes, I don't like the over-used word "troll"; just as I've gotten tired of the word "amazing" way overused. Maybe "rogue" should be used sometimes, a link to synonyms: http://www.thesaurus.com/browse/troll

Instead of TROLL I like the synonym bugaboo. ( I wouldn't want to be called a bugaboo. )

Maybe. I wouldn't go out on that limb. He's gone. Is he back? I don't know. But... you might know something that I don't. Whatever.

My definition of a "Troll" is someone who watches the boards for misinformation and then is hated for "calling-it-out" in a snarky manner.

Sometimes, but not always. I really do think that TROLLS in general have a sense of humor. Albeit perverted. They enjoy antagonizing the more straight-laced among us. They're comedians. Clowns. The internet is their stage. It takes all kinds to make the world go round. In the great scheme of things they serve a purpose. I guess.

I think a troll are the one's that come on here saying I have this how much is it worth. When any one that can come on here to ask that can look it up just as fast and it's there 30th post. Then the fun starts if your selling something post it on the BST if you cant find it ask But when you see links, how much can I get that's a turn off. One you will never learn without doing the research it takes time but most of us here that been here for some time see it all the time and that's when you will see the Troll word get tossed around. Just put any thing you want to know in the search box and you can find it or see if any one else talked about it.

I don't intend to hijack the thread, but the overused (and misused) word that makes my blood boil when I hear it 30 times a day is "iconic."

Some of them are, but certainly not all.

Retired dealer and avid collector of U.S. type coins, 19th century presidential campaign medalets and selected medals. In recent years I have been working on a set of British coins - at least one coin from each king or queen who issued pieces that are collectible. I am also collecting at least one coin for each Roman emperor from Julius Caesar to ... ?

When someone says: “I enjoy collecting x” and someone else comes on only to reply that “x” is stupid and that anyone that collects “x” is a moron— that’s a troll.

Actually, that is like literally an amazing and iconic post, you know. It could usher in the start of a new paradigm.

Irregardless, "troll" has become the standard term. They seem to be happy with any kind of reaction. The more chain-reaction conflict, the better. Maybe they are seeking a psychotic reaction. Perhaps this will help:

Popular phrases and words are based on what part of the country you live in. Probably the west coast dynamic culture gravitates to words like "iconic"; trendy faux cultures throw around words like Starbucks caters to jaded caffeine hooked drinkers of their value added $5 mixes.

I have a real resistance to new trends and fashionable words, human nature has not changed but the high tech gadgets have created their own popular memes based on what is liked or disliked.

The video above is quite right. Trolls like to induce "psychotic reactions" from their comments and posts.

Trolls are backward people........so from now on I am going to call them "LLORTS"

...................and there are LLORTS of them around here.............
