I'll give you 5% off any buy it now in my ebay store. But I would do that on any day, so not sure you can say it's for black friday, lol.

Unless you're buying super generic coins like graded silver eagles or proof sets, it really probably doesn't matter. Most coins, the dealer will sell you at his best price whether its black friday or mid august.

Unless you are dealing with products with very high margins you will not see big discounts.

I'm doing a 10% off ebay items and including an ASE for spot if bought through here.
I'm also selling a Dan Carr token for under issue price (also with an Eagle at spot).

Apmex has deals on their website and on ebay. A few other bullion dealers have specials too.

Exactly, I thought about trying a sale once, but I'd give folks my best price if asked at any time... and it's hard to do a sale that would apply to all coins listed. For some of my coins, my best price would be the full asking price... but for some others, I could come down quite a bit if wanted.

I think the reason Gerry Fortin has some decent markdowns is that he is mainly working with consignors, so he works with them to designate price reductions on some of the consigned items, especially if they have been sitting for sale for a while.

Isn't "Coin Dealer and Discount" an oxymoron?

The coin business is not like other retail industries that depends on Christmas sales to get their annual earnings into "the black" as opposed to "red" (a loss). If. You are a coin dealer, and you are still in the red by this time of the year, you are in trouble. I was in the black from the Winter FUN Show in early January.

Retired dealer and avid collector of U.S. type coins, 19th century presidential campaign medalets and selected medals. In recent years I have been working on a set of British coins - at least one coin from each king or queen who issued pieces that are collectible. I am also collecting at least one coin for each Roman emperor from Julius Caesar to ... ?

I would be very intrerested in any dealers having Black Friday sales. There is a reason that many retailers have Black Friday deals........they have too much juice in the deal and need to liquidate obsolete inventory.

But coin dealers are special......all of their inventory is "very" obsolete.
