Was proud to have earned 1000 points and reached the highest ranking,,,,I am in very good company with all of the long time, prolific board members here.

I want to thank y'all for teaching me so much and for helping me to take away so much knowledge from these boards.

I hope that my contributions have done the same for you and that I have imparted some knowledge, as well. A heartfelt THANK YOU, my friends!!!

Sometimes, it’s better to be LUCKY than good. 🍀 🍺👍

Congratulations! Over the years you have proved that you are a lot more than just a "Walker Fan." You have a lot of knowledge in other areas as well.

Master Collector!!!! Woo Hoo!!! Congrats! You got my curiosity up and I had to check on my stats, I've got three stars and a lot to learn. I'm not a Master Collector, in fact I couldn't find a title for three stars. I guess I'll have to make one up....Novice Collector! Did they tell you once you reach your level, you have to start teaching a coin class?

Congrats on that, well deserved, you've made many informative posts that we've learned from.

I'm the curious type so after joining CU a year ago I tried to figure things out. For example, IMHO some members here should be given the five-star rating immediately just for joining. For example (my apologies to everyone else) if Rick Montgomery were to join.

This is a mixture of what I know and what I think. The star rating is given by points earned. We earn points mostly by the # of "agrees" and "likes" we receive. That is the fastest way. We lose points for "disagrees." I'm fairly certain we also lose points for "spam" and "abuse." We gain points (not sure how many) for badges. If I were running the place some badges would be worth more points than others and "birthday" badges would not be worth as much as others. Most badges seem to be gained at the 25, 100, 250, 500, and 1000 levels.

Now here is the kicker. I believe we also get points for posting popular discussions. We also may get points for no reason at all - only the Mods know how/if this is done. For example, @Bailey is going to get five stars with only about 600 points from "agrees" and "likes." His 400 points came from the other sources. Perhaps the yearly badges are very important. Furthermore, one new member who works at a major dealer earned three stars in a short period of time with hardly any posts or points. That's what got me curious about the ratings.

Anyway, I'll bet the pursuit of stars is like "dope" to some of us, especially anyone who are curious enough to try and figure out what they mean. B)

I just gave you a point and by the end of next week (if not in a day or two) you'll be "in" for sure. :)

Thanks. Coming up on 15 years here, and nearing 20,000 posts. So, Most of my activity was prior to points and stars.

Apparently, lots of folks lost a ton of points at the conversion.

@Insider2 ....There were no points prior to conversion... only post count. And yes... posts were lost... primarily those that were earned on the now defunct 'Open Forum'....Darn that was a fun place.... :D;) Cheers, RickO
