Well not screwed just not what you wanted, Take them back and try it again. It's just how it works some times you turn over enough rocks you will find a nugget. Keep hunting I would go by a BM coin shop and buy some Bu rolls 1960-D Small dates, others dates you can find and look at them some can be found for $1.50 to $3 a roll and when find something it will be worth your wild. But that's just me dumb Type2 thinking.

Well I'm going to regardless just cuz I bought it and then I'll put it back in the same rolls and exchange it but I've never bought any rolls like that where would I go to get some
Do this go to a B/M Coin shop ask if they have any BU Roll's look up some date's that will have DD, RPM, RPD and so on, start small just two or three dates when you find them buy 10 roll's or so look at them and you will find something some times big hit's some times just RPM but fun to fine. But keep a eye on this board if some one finds something in new releases you will know and you can go look for them. Go back and look for the new cent that came out in 09 you will find dates and time stamps of the box's that came out that you can find Error's in if that's what you want or what you are looking for, Have fun hunting. Oh remember this always ask you never know what your going to get.
Once I got a whole box of "wishing well cents." The majority were corroded from being submerged in water for a lengthy amount of time. I decided to look through them anyway, and I found a 1964 Doubled die reverse (FS-801.)

Buying rolls like that almost guarantees that you will 'occasionally' run into this.... People who metal detect will save their coins for long periods, then turn them in for cash... just one example. Take it in stride...the next box may contain treasure.... Cheers, RickO

If they are damaged, take them to a bank and state they are damaged, and they MAY permanently remove them from circulation.
I might be hesitant to do this. The bank is under no obligation to accept them. They may tell you to send them to the treasury. Of course, if you're a good customer, they would probably take care of it.
The dreaded/loved CWRs (customer wrapped rolls). Sometimes you get lucky, sometimes you don't. Maybe the next time it will be a box of hand-rolled wheat cents.
Once I got a bunch of nickel CWRs. One roll was 5 coins sort, and the next was 5 coins over. Don't recall if I found anything good in those rolls, and in that group I was just happy to break even,

I'm trying to be optimistic about it LOL I think people are more worried about my spelling I talk to text through my phone so my phone screws it up a lot
Well in that case you are out nothing but a little time. Saying you got "screwed" is wrong unless they shorted you on the amount that you traded for your cash at face value. Banks do not care if the coins are dingy and dirty so much as they do as being countable coins and usable for daily commerce, and that is what you got. They are not there to provide better than average circulating coins for the coin collector to rummage through. What they have on hand is what they provide and maybe the next box you get will be better. I'm not trying to sound harsh, I am just being honest with you.

Yeah I should probably be a bit more optimistic bout it I suppose
Exchange them back, and go to a different bank. Loomis has been good to me, Brinks, and Garda are decent too. Don't let discouragement cause you to quit. You're not out anything so move along, and search another box. Good luck!

Sure did. The bank said I can exchange them so I'm happy now lol

Did you pay more than face value for them?
Were they advertised as something else?
Not understanding the issue?

Must have been hell on your back

Screwed? You bought pennies. You got pennies. Were some pennies missing? You're upset they are dirty. But you didn't get screwed.
And also, it's 'roll'. Not 'role'.

Soak em in olive oil or distilled water. They might actually clean up ok if they aren't too corroded

Anyway, jokes aside and spelling, too. The nonsense is that the box of rolls is entirely made up of cents. No offense intended.
