3 more New Mercury Dimes. Are these UGLY also? Guess the Grades??

Bought these this week also. My last 2 that were shown many responders thought they were ugly. Are these also UGLY?
The 1st Merc 39D
The 2nd Merc 43D
The 3rd Merc 31P

I don't mind the '39-D, but the '43-D isn't for me.

That 1931 is quite nice..... While I would not call the other two ugly.....well, I would not date them...

ugly tarnish on all but one, but the coins are not ugly.
I think the first two show the true beauty and age of a coin. Some may be more attractive than others, but I still think it is a beauty of older coins. Like the character of older buildings vs. the matchstick stuff they build today.

Eye appeal is not great, not bad. Neutral I'd say. All grade MS 66 IMO except the 1931. That's a bit lower.
They are all great looking and the top two have nice toning. Really like the 39 D.
"ugly", like everything else in this Hobby.........is in the eyes of the beholder.
ALWAYS remember that.

I like all 3.....the first 2 more so than the last. The 39 and 43 are probably 66 or 67's. The 31 a 65. JMHO.
I see the 31 as a 65, the 43 as a 66 and the 39 as a 67. Always tricky from photos.

Love the 39 d, like the 31p too , but a pass on the 43d. 66 maybe 7,66,65.

39D is in a 65FB holder. Can you believe that? 43D is in a 66FB holder and the 31P is in a 65 Holder.

I honestly don't understand the correlation between grades and eye appeal in MS 65 and better Roosies, and now Mercs. I've seen a number of MS 67 Roosies whose toning made me reach for a barf bag. Some of them are on Coinfacts.
I think your 39 D is on the lower end of average re eye appeal, I won't comment on the 43 D, and that the 31 P is a generic white coin that I'd rate a 6 on a scale of 1 to 10 re eye appeal.
