No Eisenhower Dollars with Edge View

How come I have not seen even one Ike dollar with edge view in the new holders, at any price ?! I`m beginning to think the previous Dupont holders actually looked better, they had nicer (thinner) gaskets than the new holders. Only the Dupont holders didn't stack, but they showed the coin better.

Interesting. Are there edge view holders of other dollars of similar size?
The Morgan $ is a different diameter ? That could be the reason, but not an excuse. And I just checked Ebay, NGC edge views its Ike $s. I still prefer PCGS, just something to keep in mind. It would be nice to have it edge viewed. I even saw PCGS PF70DC`s without the edge view. BTW, Both Morgan and IKE dollars have the same diameter, 38.1 mm.
They may be using remaining stock on the lowly Ikes
My perception is that Ikes have not been a "hot item" for a while. Perhaps only a limited number of them have been graded recently.
The edge of every entombed coin should be visible. For some issues, it is an important element of identification. Saint-Gaudens $10 and $20 include multiple errors and varieties based on the edge, but they are seldom attributed because the edges are hidden.
Not being able to see the edge of slabbed coins has been a pet peeve of mine.... I have always considered the 'third side' to be important. I have passed on otherwise nice coins due to edge issues. Cheers, RickO
Actually, I just had an Ike Dollar graded last week. It did not come in an edge view holder either.
Lowly
According to Coin Facts , The Ike Dollar has a diameter of 38.5 mm and the Morgan has a diameter of 38.10. So now we wait for edge view gaskets in 38.5 mm size.
Are the gaskets/tabs so precisely sized that a difference of 0.4mm is going to preclude their use for Ike dollars? Seems like an AG-3 Morgan with worn edges might knock off 0.4mm, or more, and the gaskets probably have some range of suitability.
(On the other hand, if they really are that precise....inventory control and identification must be a nightmare!)
Ikes are 38.1 mm in diameter - same as the older silver dollars.
pssst look at my thread
The six I received last week were not in edge view holders.
The name is LEE!
Did anyone request an "edge view" holder?
Check this out....
Same submission, sequential cert numbers, returned to me within the last month:
(As always, pardon my photography).
But obviously, they have some criteria for picking the type of gasket used....Morgans seem to get the edge-view, others, maybe not?
Maybe there's a "Bucket O' Gaskets" and they pull at random...?
What did customer service say?

I have a Peace $ with edge view. I was going to re holder it, I am sure glad I did not. The Dupont holders may not stack well but they look the best and get the MOST edge view if you compare them.
