Looks like it could be a missing clad layer, but your color balance is way off.

See if you can get it accurately measured to within a tenth of a gram. A clad quarter is 5.67 grams, and one cladding layer is 1/6th of that, so do the math.

No. Should be copper color as the edge in the photo, not gold!

Hey @Insider2 shouldn't you be hiding somewhere inland? Lol, hope you got out of there.

  • It weighs almost a half gram over. So know I'm a little confused

  • I meant half a point

The roads are packed, and gas is in short supply. I'm staying home. I don't know how I'm going to handle CU withdrawal when the power goes out though! I never found this place until about a year ago so I'll try to get by with lots of chocolate. I cannot wait to try and start a cooking fire with magnesium shavings as seen on Naked & Afraid.
Have my M-14 ready if the Gators or looters come-a-calling. You got to love FL!

We've been watching things all week. First, it was going up the east coast - no problem for us. Then up the middle - still OK. Now right up my street - big problem. Still, may shift further west before it hits. Anyway, lots of prayers for all the folks in FL have certainly seemed to help.

What really pisses me off is wall-to-wall hurricane coverage and no football!

I don't want to talk about football. My Patriots lost our home opener. That doesnt happen too often.

On a serious note, that hurricane is no joke. All the computer models seem to have been wrong. hopefully that sucker keeps going west and misses most of the peninsula. Stay safe.

The clad layer is Not missing as the copper reeding is a different color than the coin surface, Should be the same color. I believe your coin has toning or plated.
