Better than a lot of MS64 coins I've seen, but not great hair detail as is common.

Geez that might have been the shortest GTG I've ever seen! Only gave us 24 minutes. LOL. I would have gone 64.

  • ldhairldhair Posts: 7,372 ✭✭✭✭✭

    I would have said 64.

I would have guessed 64... I have been searching for a '21 like this... most are overpriced.... That is a nice coin overall.....
My search goes on.... Though I have ruled ebay out.... too many trashy coins....and overpriced as I said.
    Cheers, RickO

Has a 65/66 look. I would prefer a stronger strike. But that's just me and they are extremely rare!

I've learned over the years that grading pictures is very difficult!

I was in the 63-64 camp but seeing the coin in hand is obviously important.

I was in the 64 crowd due to the weak strike.

    Solid 65 if not better.

Everyone wants hair detail. Like it's all about the strike.

Look at the surfaces. That's a wonderful '21.

Don't know much about Peace $s and less about that date in particular. Is the latter known for a weak strike? Ie., hair around the ear on obverse and lack of feather detail on lower part of eagle's wings on viewer's right.

A weak strike would explain lack of detail in these areas (like with many New Orleans Morgans in the hair around the ear). The coin appears not to have luster breaks in these areas, so as a matter of first impression, I would think the weak strike idea would be the case.
